A Good Study Bible.

I have several Study Bibles and also am addicted to collecting Bibles in general but I do my memorization from the King James.

I am a Baptist and do love my brothers and sisters in Christ in the Assemblies of God even though I have a different view on Eternal Security and speaking in other Tongues as an evidence of being baptized with the Holy Spirit.

I have been listening to Brother Jimmy Swaggart and Donnie`s preaching and teachings on Son Life Radio and have a couple of Brother Jimmy Swaggart`s Bible commentaries one on Romans and one on Act`s and one that contains a verse by verse on 1st-2nd-3rd John plus Jude and have found them to be excellent commentaries.

I finally bought 3 of Brother Jimmy Swaggart`s The Expositor`s Study Bible`s one for my wife and one for my sister and one for myself. They arrived today and I must say these Bibles are the AV King James with the Commentary between each verse of these Bible`s from Genesis 1:1 to the end of Revelation and they are of genuine leather and have two ribbon markers one for the Old Testament and one for the New Testament.

This Bible is the most remarkable Bible that I have ever seen since my collection started some 10 years ago.I tell you the smell of the pages are heavenly and I am a baptist.Im quite sure if speaking in Tongues are for everyone this Bible will probably set me on fire with them.

There is always someone that throws stones at Brother Swaggart about his past and this is UnChrist-like and UnGodly as can be.

Let him that is without sin let him cast a stone at him.{St John 8:7}

I have a Scofield study Bible-KJ-A Grant Jeffrey Prophecy study Bible-KJ-A new Pilgrim study Bible-KJ-A Tim Lahaye Prophecy study Bible-KJ-A Thompson Chain Reference study Bible-KJ and have given away many Bibles like the Ryrie Study Bible-KJ the KJV study Bible and many reference KJ Bibles to many to count.

God has blessed me with the last one I do believe and the most comprehensivstudy Bible I have ever or ever will see and that is the Expositor`s study Bible by Brother Jimmy Swaggart. It is a study Bible with a verse by verse built in commentary of the whole Bible with a Pentecostal-Baptist perspective all in one and I am more than pleased and do praise God for this aid in the study of His Holy Inspired sinless Word.Amen!

I just wanted to share this if you are not aware of this wonderful aid in the study of God`s Word.

In Christ.

I have read and studied the Bibles you mention. All are fine for general study. However, there is one problem;two many of the non-canonical Books are missing.THUS,I prefer the NABRE of Roman Catholicism.I want a Bible that contains as many of the ancient Texts as possible.

Many make the unfortunate mistake of taking the Bible to be the “WORD” of God. It is God’s word, but it is not “THE WORD”! This is not a play on words designed to confuse you, but rather it is a coming out of a truth that is vitally needed in the believer’s life. John 1:1 clearly tells us that the WORD was in the beginning with God and that the Word WAS GOD! We all know that the bible ISN’T God, but the Scriptures reveal that the WORD IS GOD! What we are seeing is a clear distinction being made by the Scriptures to indicate that the WORD OF GOD and God’s Word are two separate things although they agree in every way.

God is the Word and is a Living Supernatural Being, where the bible is a “record” of what the Living Supernatural Being – God – The WORD has said and done. This is important to note, because God can never and will never be replaced by any book regardless of its content. Many well meaning teachers and preachers over the years have unfortunately misinformed sincere believers that were seeking God concerning this truth.

Let’s take a look at some of the things that I have heard over the years and I’m sure you could come up with many more, but maybe some of these will be familiar to you as well:
God doesn’t talk to us anymore
God has told us everything we need to know right here in this book
The Bible is the voice of God for us today
The Bible is the only Word of God that we have today
The Bible has God’s final words and thought on everything for our life
If you can’t show it to me in the Bible, then it isn’t God

Even,“The study notes from the Spirit-Filled Life Bible, of which Pastor Jack Hayford served as General Editor, states this:“The absolute authority of the Bible over our lives is based in our conviction that this Book does not merely contain the Word of God, but that it is the Word of God in its sum and in its parts.”

Those books have no place in the Bible and are nothing more than false Unscriptural teaching. Is not the Word of the Lord enough for you?

you're not correct friend, the Word of God IS the Word of God, if you want to include the apocrypha, why not include books like jasher or enoch, even various other historical info. If you don't accept what we consider to be the bible as being the revelation of Yeshua assembled by scholarly, Godly, prayerful men.....what do you believe & I wonder why?

The Open Study Bible is the best study bible I have ever owned, especially the older ones. I own several including the Jimmy Swaggart bible. Honestly, in my opinion, I would put it near the bottom of the list. He does do a very good job of selling it, I admit.

The NABRE does contain the most complete number of
Books. All the other Bibles;while They may be very good, have for some reason excluded many Books.
