That is the problem nothing is being confronted.... I agree with the above poster. The AG needs a reformation

I agree with the other poster, nothing is being done about the chronic AG issues... I have had similar experiences. I was in the AG for 15 years and got so disgusted with it I left. This is definitely the typical lets not look at the elephant in the middle of the room deal.

to put it simply
You always hear that God is good and the Devil is bad.(evil is more accurate)
That if your good you go to heaven and that if your bad you go to hell.(good only counts if you're in a relationship with Jesus Christ)
you hear that once upon a time the devil was gods favourite angel and that he tried to take over heaven and in return god punished him and banished him.
but you never hear WHY?(pride, self centeredness, pretty much behaving like most humans do today)
I know as a religion you are supposed to accept certain things and not question but I have so many simple questions that need straight forward answers that dont need an interpreter to go along with them.
So lets say the Devil tried to take over Heaven - WHY?(Asked and answered)
correct me if I go wrong but my conclusions have come from various sources over a number of years and vary
I heard that the Devil/Lucifer didn't agree with Gods way of mans evolution.(no evidence for this)
God believed in suffering and penance in order to grow whereas Lucifer believed in Love and experiences through love to aid growth and evolution.(no evidence for this either, garbage)
that Lucifer was supposed to have been the leader of Gods orchestra / conductor.(he was created to praise God)
that Lucifer is in fact working for God and oversees people who have been sent to hell.(false, garbage, hell was never intended for people, it's sin and unrepentance that gets them there)
Hell is in fact a place of punishment and the sentence doesn't always mean forever / but until a person has learned the error of their ways.(false, hell is for eternity)
I think this will do to start off.
Please don't preach when replying back(you said I shouldn't preach so I did not)
and I know a lot of people may have their own interopretation but #i would like to know an official/ possibly the churches view on this ( I am an apologist in the church)
See my response in amongst your questions, my responses in brackets. Thanks

Many of you are forgetting who Jesus was and what he died for...how has this nonsensical bickering helped to advance the Kingdom.

Some comments on here about Jesus are frankly despicable and you ppl should be ashamed of yourself. To you ppl I will pray for your souls and for mercy at your day of judgement and you stand before Christ and he turns his back to you I will also pray that you repent of your sins and humbly receive salvation in his light and love. The fear of the lord is the beginning of knowledge but fools despice wisdom and instruction. Proverbs 1:7 take it to hear I beg you.
There are also ppl on here who I can tell truly love and know Jesus in your daily lives. Keep your faith don't let anyone or anything steal your joy of the lord. Walk thru this life with Jesus by your side and praise him with every breath you take and receive his divine blessings always. You are wise righteous and will one day walk in the land of our lord which he has prepared for the faithful. Also he aware of false doctrine and never allow the wicked of men to lead you astray from God he is your rock and strength it doesn't matter what this world thinks of you be not of this world and strive to keep to his word also remember everyone makes mistakes forgive others and yourself for slip ups in faith and gods laws. Forgive and be forgiven by the kingdom of heaven.

It is funny how people will argue about all kinds of issues in the church but want take 2 seconds to tell someone about the blood of Jesus and the Cross of Calvary.

Roles of men and women
In a society that stresses equality between men and women, why do most confessional Lutherans and other conservative churches choose to limit leadership and authority roles in congregations to men? We do believe and teach that men and women enjoy equal status and importance before God. Both men ...

i dont think God wants arguing over his other bible doctrines

yet their is nothing wrong in a christian telling why they beleive
a certain way .. it can be done with out arguing.. or trying to make the other christian feel less than christian..

Ordaining women? Isn't that sinful?
I hope they get banished for that.......I mean a woman's place is behind her husband......and in the home.
This is just shocking.
we would not want to major in minors for instance the major teaching of the church is salvation through trust in christ merits alone

yet God also wants us to speak up about sin . if human didnt think they sinned why would they need Jesus their only savior from sin ..

why not DO A BIBLE study ON Gods roles for men and women and see what he says is the right roles for each.

study what God says BEFORE THE FALL
and then after the fall . and i think you will find God roles for men and women stayed the same..

what are the different roles ?

this is what lutherans have found in our bible studys

I believe your answer can be found in Isaiah 14:13-14. I believe Satan was claiming to rise to the level of God instead of being Gods servant.

Hi Folks,
Can someone tell me what the steps are in becoming an AG pastor??
I've been through Southeastern Bible college..
I already have 3 degrees. Music, Bible, and Elem.Edu cation. I stopped persueing the ministry after my wife left me{While in college} I remarried and back then I had no chance in persuing the pastor role.
Have the Assemblies changed their minds on the remarrying issue?
Would I need more schooling?
Thanking you in advance?

I would run from the AG like the plague, I was with this group for almost 25 years, ordained the works. Loved this organization and Probably the good outweighs the bad, however, in Missouri they do not support their pastors unless you are one of the "good ole Boys", by this I mean you have to have connections. Their churches are ran completely by their deacons and their wives, the Pastor is an emasculated figure head that has very little say, again unless you have big connections in springfield. It's very sickening what has become of a once wonderful body of believer, they've gotten into Comtemplative prayer,(google it), they are leaving the Holy Spirit and their foundational roots. Speaking in tongues in their churches is a has been experience in many. Many of their churches are put to shame by Baptists, as a matter of fact many AG churches now a days you wouldn't know you weren't in a Baptist church. I was told in my local church that we should only speak in tongues if it is interpreted. They've really gone down hill. It's scary what this group is getting into, they have embraced ecumenism, I heard Dr Opal REddin on the general council floor in Denver several years back condemn this move toward the ecumenical embrace, she was shut down. Eventually went home to be with the Lord. The new Supt. George Wood has embraced Rick Warren who is way out in left field in his beliefs. It's scary, matt 24 says if possible the very elect will be deceived. I thought I would never say this but I would not recommend any pastor get credentials with the assemblies of God. timefortruth.org is a wonderful site to learn from concerning the AG. Just fyi

Hello John, pleasure, and I agree. I posted in the past here about own encounters with AOG, and will add the "worldliness" (word not used that much anymore) that has crept in with attempts to be ever so "relevant" is astounding. And to be a "good ol' boy" and a good fit sometimes all it takes is to be a "Ken and Barbie" couple- looks great in meetings at the "social club"- which is what many(not just AOG) churches have become.

What ever happened to just preaching the simplicity of the Gospel? We have a counterfeit culture/Christianity which has moved in , all to become more "relevant" and less "intimidating" to a politically correct environment. To me the "relevancy" push is seeing how far we can push the envelope to "appeal" to youth , in a 'worldly' direction - of course.

Here's a link explaining "Contemplative Prayer" you referenced in your post, for others interested and their convenience:

http://www.gotquestions.org/contemplative-pra...

And thanks for listing that "Time for Truth" - opening page validates much I've thought concerning the Church.
Thank you ,in Christ - Jack

God would be so proud of how woman are taking over the pulpit!WHAT BLASPHAMY!!

How could you say that a women's place is in the kitchen? How could you be so judgemental. Women have every right to lead ministry. It is not considered blasphemy. God has called me into ministry and I will not let some uneducated, patriarchal misguided Christian deter me off the path he has called me to. Before you say something rude, judgemental, and extremely hurtful, you should really think about what you're saying.
