Tommy Sparger is the pastor of the church I attend, North Point Church. Tommy has worked wonders for our community. Without him there would be thousands of people in springfield that would be 'lost'. He has touched our community in ways no other pastor could do. Thanks Tommy, God bless you!

Man, He sure is amazing! I went to a southern baptist church before I came to North Point, I felt that faith was something that no matter what you thought you had to agree with everyone else. It was not fun at all, I never got anything from the sermon ever and never wanted to go back nor get involved in the church. When I came to NPC everyone was REAL !! including Tommy!? I was so shocked and since that first day I have never missed a day of church, ALWAYS walk away with something from the sermon, and am innvolved with the hospitalitly team. Tommy is amazing, I would never have known Jesus had Tommy not introduced us. God Bless You

Oh right, so that means that you know him, I see. Ok now I get it. So by that same logic, that means that the other forums on here stating that you are on drugs is true, because they are on the internet. Right?

Tommys a nice guy and all but does he always stand up for what's right? He pastors an Assemblies of God church, that should say enough. Does he believe in what John Lindell stands for? Does he believe in what the So Mo District stands for? He didn't stand up when John Lindell and the So Mo District was filing a lawsuit against Timbercreek. He didn't stand up when JRAG started up Wilsons Creek better know as Timbercreek. He is no different than most pastors. Most just put up with the crap as long as their getting a paycheck everyweek. Look out Tommy, Northpoint could be next.

Honestly, I did stand up and tell the Assemblies of God (Southern Mo District) exactly what I thought about the lawsuit against Timbercreek and my friend Paul.

Tommy, as I said before you are no different. You said you stood up and told the So Mo Dist what you thought about the the lawsuit against Timbercreek. You said Paul is your friend. Why do you allow your church to canvess neighborhoods for Wilsons Creek better know as Timbercreek if you are so different and Paul is your friend? Did John twist your arm? Man, with a friend like you who needs enemies? You should be ashamed of yourself! You are no different.

So Tommy is at fault for allowing his church members to have free will and not ruling them by an iron fist. However he never publicly stated anything concerning the issue. So I really don't see how he can be in the wrong at all.

This will be the last time I defend myself on this post .... after that ... say whatever you want. For the record, NPC never promoted or passed out any materials for Wilson Creek/TimberCreek/James River or whatever.

Regardless you still stood by as the district your money supports, not only sued a fellow church; but also a "friend" and former colleague. Surely you can't condone what the SOMO district did, regardless of your stance on Paul Kirk's choices. Please enlighten us on how you ignore 1 Cor. 6: 1-11 in all of this. They sued the man personally and accused him of stealing. They called the local television station and paraded around like pious judges. You say you told them how you felt about it. But what about your flock? Were they also given your true feelings about the situation? Or did you continue to cash your paycheck and welcome all the TimberCreek refugees to your flock? I think we all know. And that is certainly your right. But don't claim or act like you stood up for what was right and just. You cowered to the powers that be just like so many before you. You can claim to have stayed out of the mudslinging, but your silence speaks bounds in regards to your integrity. I think people in this community would be more changed by a simple and truthful conversation, than by a lame Depeche Mode reference to kick off a new series.

I started to drop my daughter off at NPC youth group, I asked the youth pastor what the kids would be doing, he said " canvassing for Wilson creek" so either you lie or you head is up your $&@.

So again, Tommy is at fault for allowing his team free will and allowing them to do what they want with their free time? How dare he not rule them with an iron fist. That Anti-Tyrant! What does $&@ mean, I couldn't find it in the dictionary. Grow up & use real words!

interesting that "free will" would be so thrown around in this discussion, lol.

anyways and more important, it seems this fella can't do anything right for some of you. So I guess the question is why do you pursue him like it's a personal vendetta? Don't go to his church...go somewhere else.

for the life of me, I don't understand why someone professing Christ could perjure the name of a Shepherd. If he's a bad shepherd, so be it.

Move on...

"perjure the name of a Shepherd"?

Someone is taking themselves a little seriously today. I also find it quite amusing that someone posting from Canada would tell another to, "Grow up & use real words!" That is some thick irony, Eh.

I say if the shoe fits, perjure that Shepard.

However, this is a topix forum not a legal proceeding. So unless the context of the word has changed, no one is perjuring themselves here.

All this hostility is misguided. Tommy means well. He is but a small fish, swimmingly obediently in the wake of the big boys he answers to. He doesn't want to disturb the delicate balance of money in/ guilt out. To pick on him is a waste of time and effort, until the shroud of secrecy is yanked back and people see that these "leaders", have and will lie to protect what they value most: their ego's, and their wallets.

Mr. Klein - nice jeans...

now sit back and listen close
"pejorative" (contextually) or to "perjure" (subjectively) is a word indicative of basis less, slanderous, and slighted statements of another, for a perceive intent to manipulate, coerce, or demean.

this is vernacular usually associated with individuals whom have graduated from high school :)
