While TEC works through this possible schism, at what point does Bishop Schori 'call the question' to close the endless back and forth (I'm not trying to belittle the debate taking place, just using an expression).
Is part of her charge as PB to try to resolve disagreements such as this? Does she have the authority to do so, or is she enjoined somehow from doing this?
THe only "schism" is the same dioceses threatening the same actions they did in the early '70's when the first woman was ordained.

I'm sure she won't do anything until the next Bishop's meeting or possibly the next General Convention. There's nothing clear in the Constitution and Canons regarding this.

Personally, I'm ready for them to leave. Over 30 years of threats, intimidation, hatred and collusion with foreign oversight are enough.
There are pleny of other denominations that could accomadate them.

I agree. It seems that these folks are almost deliberately attempting to give christianity a bad name and to prevent the church from moving forward and evangelizing.

Why would anyone want to join a food fight like this has been? Why can't they just go off and hate on their own and leave the rest of us to preach the good news of god's love?

The recent survey by the Pew Research folks is a case in point. They claim that the fastest churches growing are "conservative" or "traditional" (they are, of course, in reality, neither). That's debatable, but also beside the point.

What is clear from research is that the vast majority of those who have changed religion are not those who have gone to an "evangelical" church, but those who have given up religion (and specifically Christianity) altogether.

When these hate-filled anti-inclusiveness folks cause these "food fights" in the church, many of the people whom we should be evangelizing are turned off; they end up throwing the loving baby out with the hate-filled bath-water.

Just because a group should gain control of the buildings doesn't mean they have control of the church or are even part of the church for that matter. If the words of the bible are spirit and truth and are ignored by this group are they part of the church?

The question will be answered on the judgement day but it makes a person wonder if teachings are contrary to the bible could this be some of the false teachers we are warned about?Just a thought.
