Dear Think again. There is no getting through to people like the above. Don't throw your pearls before swine.

Dear PE,

God's promise to us in Isaiah 55:11 that His Word will not return void. Prayfully and hopefully if we stand firm in faith and on the Word of God, lives can and will be changed if it is God's will.

Isaiah 55:11 (KJV)

"So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it"shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

Just a quick "THANK YOU" to Warren Sensei - Thanks for not "cherry-picking" scripture and twisting it for an agenda. Thanks for original, clear thinking!!

Immature understanding? Right! Two-thousand years plus of church history and tradition. Nothing in Scripture that promotes anything but a man/woman relationship within the bond of marriage.
You like all of your revisionist friends want to redifine what is sin to suit your own political agenda.
Show me one verse in any Apostalic teaching that says anything other than a man/woman relationship is valid. I won't be holding my breath because you can't.
Our "thousands" of years of tradition and understanding have been wrong before. Slavery, for instance, is quite strongly upheld in Scripture. One might go and say it is as strongly instituted as is marriage, but for the moment, that's neither here nor there. The point is that in the total context of love for our neighbor (that is, the total context of all of scripture according to Jesus himself) dictates that owning another person is sinful. The modern interpretation of the verses pertaining to slaves and slavery is that God was giving a framework in which the ancient slave-based society could function with a minimum of wrongdoing. As we matured as a species, we have (mostly) been able to become enlightened about the true nature of the universe as it pertains to slavery, and have thus abandoned it for the higher path.
Thus too is marriage. It was the way that everyone had to procreate, and so the heterosexual marriage is the ideal with everyone doing their duty. That time is past, having not only covered but overpopulated the earth, and so now, we can mature beyond the narrow, ancient concept and see the greater path based on loving souls being together and trying to make society a better place.

For a strong exegesis for gay marriage, see my previous post with a logical proof. And these kinds of things are not invalid just because their conclusions are not themselves in Scripture directly, or else we must abandon central concepts like the Trinity (a word not found nor expressly defined in Scripture). God gave us logic so we can make these kinds of deductions and thereby grow.
