There are 23 comments on the Free Republic story from Apr 3, 2010, titled Have a little faith [Let me use the celebration of Easter as a chance to dismantle atheism]. In it, Free Republic reports that:

It's Easter. And that reminds me of the story of philosopher Bertrand Russell being asked on his deathbed what he would say to God if he found that, contrary to what he believed, the creator did in fact exist.

Don't bother reading it. It's christian propaganda and revisionism at it's worst, e.g. the denial of violent christians as being christian, lies about what atheists think, etc.

And to no surprise, the *ahem* "newspaper" that it was posted from and printed in is the Toronto Sun, a far-rightwing tabloid trash paper. The Toronto Sun isn't owned by Rupert Murdoch, but it contains the same sort of content - fabrications, lies, insults and insinuations - that any Murdoch "newspaper" contains.

'dismantle disbelief'

That's brilliant!

Just goes to show what kind of intellect they attempt to speak to.

I read as far as "Atheism is a faith, a religion, and it appeals to an empty rather than an open mind."

Apparently, when the uneducated don't understand something(like atheism), they just make up fantasy as they go. The obviously uneducated writer of this piece, has perfected denial, and fantasy.

I always thought that Mudrock was the William Randolph Hearst of our generation. Just a muck-raking greedball who hides his fascism behind a thin veneer of pop religion...

The atheists/agnostics love to call believers ingnorant and blind. Well they are right. I am ignorant and unwise for Jesus' sake. I believe although I do not see. I am blind, but by faith I see. For we walk by faith, not by sight. Christ called us to have faith, for "through faith all things are possible."
"For since, in the wisdom of God, the world through wisdom did not know God, it pleased God through the foolishnessof the message preached to save those who believe."
1 Corinthians 1:21

Will you use your blind faith and believe in me?

It is the same as faith in any other religious belief.

Belief in Jesus is not the same as any other religous belief. Jesus is not a religion, He is the Redeemer of mankind.

Again just a man telling you to have faith in him. Man wrote the bible without the ability to substantiate anything they wrote so faith was the answer. With faith you do not have to prove anything you say just believe. Be it right or wrong blind faith is all you need. Why not have faith in all the other religious beliefs and books they are after all written by man just the same as the bible.

And any con artist would say the same thing.

Jesus was not just a man. He was and is the Son of God. The Son of God calling us to have faith is a much different thing than a man saying the same. And yes it is true that men wrote the bible, but they were men who had the Spirit of God, and the Lord has His stamp of approval on every word written.
Faith is also not simply the answer because there is no proof. It is actually the other way around. Because the Lord wants us to have faith, that is the very reason there is no tangible "proof." I have faith in Jesus Christ because I have a relationship with Him, just as He calls any human to have. It is our choice to accept that relationship or not. Our free will enables us to choose whether or not to believe. Religous writings are not what is important, Jesus is. And where Jesus is, I will follow. That happens to lead to Christianity, as it is the only religion that professes Him to be the Omega, and the Almighty.

I am not lead by delusion, I am lead by the way, the truth and the life.

Once again, this is where faith comes into it. My faith tells me that Jesus was no con artist. I KNOW with all my heart He was and is the Great I AM.

Man can know God. Nowhere in the Bible is that disputed. We know God simply because we are His creations.

OK how do you know this if “MAN” had not written the bible?

Again you would never know this if you had not been persuaded by man.

Once again, it all comes back to the same word. FAITH. This may be hard to explain to someone who lacks it, but those who have faith need not be bothered with these questions. Not only that, but I know from Jesus Himself that these things are true. I have heard His voice, and seen Him will come true, He has changed my heart and made me new, giving me eternal life. He has taken me out of the kingdom of this world, and brought me into His own.
