Another run of the mill rotten apostate liar.

Nothing else we haven't heard before.

Sisters are given honor within the family unit and in the congregation. Women do preach. A good deal of the preaching work is done by the sisters, in fact.

Right.

Try walking a mile in a female JW's shoes before you give an opinion.

You have no idea.

I agree he should not have included preaching in that statement as the women do spend much time going from door to door. But the gist of what he said was true. Women are not treated as equals in the org, they are to be ruled by their husbands who will always have the final word. This even when it is obvious that the woman is much more capable with dealing with things than the husband

Former Jehovah's witnesses will say anything rather than admit they could not follow the instructions to be a true Christian in these last days.

To give up the idol tradition of celebrating the holidays or the idolatry of birthdays or just being obedient to the requirements necessary to be approved by Jesus, the head of the world wide true Christian congregation of Jehovah's witnesses.

Satans eartly army of Apostates -- doing his will.

"Let no one seduce you in any manner, because [the day of Jehovah] will not come unless the apostasy comes first and the man of lawlessness gets revealed, the son of destruction." 2 Thess. 2:3

Women are treated in many ways as equals, and with love and respect. But God sets the parameters, not man, nor his church.....

"But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God." 1 Cor. 11:3 (KJV)

"Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church." Eph. 5:22,24 (KJV)

From an observer and Student of the written word, not a JW.

So you believe the man giving the account is lying.
You say that 'sisters' women are given positions of honor in the congregation?
I wonder what would make his say such things.
Surely he knows that others would know if what he is saying is not true.

It sounds like you have personal experience.
Are you, were you a female JW? Obviously not obligated to answer me.
What is your take? Is the man interviewed, truthful?
Thanks

I'm listening to the podcast now. He actually says that the women are not given preaching duties 'in the church'.

Wasn't there another story on here a few days about about something similar of how a former brother told of how they treat women as second class?

Have you ever heard the old saying, "where theres smoke, there has to be a fire?"

Open your eyes TPMP, everything bad you hear about witnesses is not a lie. I do agree that there are some lies being told, but this one is not a lie.

The fact about women who are Jehovah's witnesses, is that loyal obedient sisters are the foundation that holds the work force together.

Being a good wife and mother is necessary for the family to be united in pure worship to Almighty God Jehovah. Many women in the congregation make up the work force in preaching the news of God's heavenly Kingdom, and many do not have husbands or families to care for.

Those women with families, especially young children are ministers in their own homes, being a loving mother for their children is the best example of being a true Christian. Going door to door is always a week end responsibility for the true Christian family.

True Christian witness,
So I think now I get the difference. Women can preach 'door to door' but not in the church itself. Is that correct?
Thanks

You can get your point across and make valuable connections today, Pisces. Your personal life will stabilize after the New Moon, so there's no need to be too confrontational. You will meet opposition if you try to push your ideas on others. Be observant and save your comments for another time. You need to focus on your career aims, and the goals that you are really after.(advice given in private counseling session to all circuit overseers by NH Knorr on 02.23/1967)

The early Christians always followed the direction of the brothers of Jesus, the apostles. The Scriptures teach that women are to be silent in directing the congregation, that responsibility was for the men who met the qualifications for giving that direction.
1Corinthians 14:34

Sisters in the congregation are also ministers, they preach and teach the Bible in field service, they answer at the meetings, and if they want to voice a complaint, that is if they do not have a husband, they can ask any elder what they should do about it, he will be happy to show them the Scriptural direction.
