I only have nice things to say about you.

Just read the whole Bible.
Start by taking the blindfold off. It just makes it a little bit easier to see.

Get real. Wikipedia is not a reliable source of information and you can't deny that the link I gave showed America as number one in crime rate and the United Kingdom as second.
Look at the crimes committed by guns alone in this country. It's staggering.
Another thing this "great Protestant" nation as you call it has going for it is an extremely high divorce rate, falling marriages and people shacking up together, high rates of abortion and the Protestant churches turning their churches over to unrepentant homosexuals!
WOW! Its a good to know there are no divorced catholics, or catholics shacking up together. Also good to know not one roman catholic woman has had an abortion and not one gay member in the catholic church including the clergy.

Thanks DayStorm.....

UNBELIEVABLE!

DayStorm.

CATHOLIC ABORTIONS.

According to the Alan Guttmacher Institute, which tracks reproductive health data, non-Hispanic Catholic women of childbearing age are 29% more likely than their Protestant counterparts to have abortions (full study*). The rate is even higher--33%--if Hispanics are factored in. Another way of looking at it: while Protestant women make up about 54% of the population, they account for only 37% of the abortions. Catholic women make up 31% of the population and account for 31% of the abortions.

GAY CATHOLIC CLERGY

What percentage of priests have a homosexual orientation?

Nobody knows, with any degree of accuracy.

Analysis of the estimates of others: According to Amanda Ripley of "Time Magazine", estimates range from 15% to 50% of catholic clergy gay.

.... According to Bill Blakemore of "ABC News",...nobody knows what percentage of the American priesthood is gay; estimates range from 10% to more than 30%.

Personal estimates:

Richard Sipe, a psychotherapist and "former priest", has studied celibacy, chastity, and sexuality in the priesthood for four decades. He has authored three books on the topic. He once estimated that 30% of the priesthood is homosexually oriented. 5 Elsewhere, he is quoted as estimating that between 25% and 45% of American priests are homosexual in orientation. 6 He told the Boston Globe:

This is just more of your anti-catholic distortion of the TRUTH, regarding PROVEN (yes proven) Sacred Church History and PROVEN (again proven) TRUE Biblical interpretation of the Bible interpreted by the Early Church Fathers in 397AD,(over 350 years) after Jesus established and formed His One True Church in Antioch, and the many other Churches that followed. Pauls letters to the Churches in Philippi, Corinth, Thessalonica, Ephesis and on and on are just extensions of Our Lords One True (Universal -Catholic) Church. You---Guest-- "continue" to have (no idea) as to what you are talking about--but then--that comes as no surprise TO ANY of us Catholics who "know the TRUTH"!

17 The ELDERS who direct the affairs of the church well are worthy of double honor, especially those whose work is preaching and teaching.
We have DOUBLE HONOR, Rob, if we have an ELDER whose work is PREACHING and TEACHING...
Clay;
I don't mean to interrupt. But what elders are you talking about? From what I can't tell, every faith has elders.... Evangelicals, Baptists, Mormon, Jehovah's.... Methodist..which ones do Paul mean in his letter to Timothy. Are you an Elder?
**********
In some groups there are 'formal''elders' who hold a position. Paul speaks of REAL elders (verse 17), "Those who direct the affairs of the church WELL..."
Those are 'elders' who are MATURE in the faith, SENIORS, in that they have become knowledgeable of the faith, and can "direct the affairs of the church WELL.."
Frequently these are not licensed or ordained...or even recognized.
KayMarie
Which leads to the question.....

What elders in what Church was Paul writing Timothy about? Pentecostals? I really don't think so Kay. It would have to be the Church that was there from the beginning. Please read the writings of the Apostolic father (many who knew the Apostles personally). True Christians ought to be interested in their writings as well.
The problem for you all is they (apostolic fathers) sound really really Catholic. So you all just ignore what they had to say, even though many heard it directly from Peter, Paul, John etc.

He's funny. He'd rather live in the USA "CESSPOOL" than a "low-crime," ultra moral Catholic-majority country, like Mexico maybe.

What' even more interesting is that you try and divert every crime you can onto Catholic nations, when the very nation you live in has become a CESSPOOL! Yes, a cesspool!
This country has little children disappearing on almost a daily basis to be found later murdered. The airwaves are filled with pornography, homosexuality, sexual depravity, ultra violence and ever manner of filth there is. Homosexuals marrying and adopting little children to corrupt.
We have a high rate of prostitution. Drug Trafficking and human trafficking.

So, Michael/Free Mind.. until all this filth is cleaned up in this country, I wouldn't cast stones if I were you.

What is you're catholic church doing to clean up this filth?

Church parishes in every neighborhood in america. Claiming to be the freedom fighters for morality and justice.

Instead lets have another bake sale they say. The church coffers will squeeze every nickle out of those muffins the good ole church ladies will bake.

We can see all the flaws in everyone else but ourselves.
God sees our good and bad, there are a lot of very good nice people in the world who are not saved (Yet).
If we go searching for the bad all the time that is what we are going to find Michael. there is so much good going on in the world that people don't see or hear, because it doesn't make the News.
it doesn't sell as the bad does. Spread doom and gloom is a downer for anyone. I don't watch the news any more.
If a Child dies its very sad for sure, but if the child is abused or very ill, and God chooses to that that child home to end its suffering. God didn't allow the child to die he gave that child everlasting life with no more suffering, that is being Merciful.
LTM says.........Michael God is going to destroy the earth with fire next time.

OK! I thought God was an all loving God. I thought he created all of us equal in his image. I thought God loved his creation. Too bad for those that will be alive when this humungus fire ball errupts. I will be long dead sleeping in my casket......below the fire line.

to be of the Wesleyan faith doesnt mean that I would be a Methodist. you would really have been mixed up if I had used the correct term arminian/wesleyan.

when I have used this term in the past, I have always meant that I/we beleive in a second definitive work of Grace.

again, I was Saved on 8/25/82, 36 hours later, I received the Filling of the Holy Ghost as recorded in the Gospel of John.
and Clay, let me speak clearly, I received this Filling, knowing nothing of Santification as a Work of grace, as Practiced in many churches

looks like I am smarter than 3 or 4 people on this forum.

Pentecostalism or Classical Pentecostalism is a renewal movement[1] within Christianity that places special emphasis on a direct personal experience of God through the baptism with the Holy Spirit. The term Pentecostal is derived from Pentecost, the Greek name for the Jewish Feast of Weeks. For Christians, this event commemorates the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the followers of Jesus Christ, as described in the second chapter of the Book of Acts.
