I wonder if Walters taking the documents to preserve them, is the same as Nephi killing Laban in cold blood,(apparently as ordered by God) and taking the brass plates to preserve them?

Nephis actions were no different than the multiple complete genocides commited by the Isrealites in the of Exodus

How about Christ's arrest record (The New Testament), and one of his sword thrashing apostles who cut off one of the guys who came to arrest Christ? The early anti-Christians had fun with that one. Does being arrested make you guilty?

In Joseph Smith's case, did being murdered make him dead?

I've often hear & read antis present the whole story as being a "shoot out," but like in the case with Christ's apostles with swords; the question I've asked is: Was Joseph Smith protecting himself & those with him in the jail, from the armed mob, storming his jail door? Or was the mob protecting themselves against fast draw swifty "Jesse James" Joe Smith? The same could be asked about why Christ's apostles armed themselves with swords before they went into the garden were Christ prayed, suffered & was betrayed & arrested by a mob. Joseph was a martyr!

He was defending himself. Joseph had been through alot, even though most of it was caused by himself, and a part of it was human nature. Most of it was his own making. Toward the end, joseph threw caution to the wind, and considering the environment of the time and his past screw ups, he pushed it too far and was killed.

Its not in the brochure tho. LDS history has become pretty polished, unless youre an LDS apologist, then it not so smooth.

Joseph was murdered, pure and simple. Whatever his "screw ups" may have been, he was still a citizen of this country and had a right to a fair trial, instead of dying at the hands of a vigilante.

We knew long before this that Joseph had been arrested many times for a myriad of charges... this new proof doesn't tell us anything new.

My focus was on the taking of the plates, no the killing.
The point I was trying to make is that the records legitimisy were being questioned because he took them. Much like how the plates were taken both by Nephi and Moroni because their intentins were the same, preservation.

When Joseph made up his story, he didn't know how much gold weighs or how much the plates he described would weigh. It's been proven that it would have most likely been impossible to do the things he said he did.

Some people are very gullible.

What plates? I don't see any plates.

And I don't see any Joseph Smith.

And Warren Jeffs is the amazing shrinking violet, down to about 140 lbs.

Well, according to LDS teachings, they were gold.

I am always amazed that so few individuals realize that there is another Church, headquartered in Missouri, that also follows the teachings of Joseph Smith, yet is different from the Utah based Mormon Church. The name of that church is Community of Christ - RLDS. Why not check out there beliefs as well as those of the Mormon Church headquarted in Utah?
RLDS stands for: The Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Here is the link to their website: http://www.cofchrist.org/

Anything that has Latter Day Saints in it is going to be associated with FLDS.
Like I've said, any kind of Mormonism was not popular here and then along
come the crew from other states and start mucking up in Texas.

What will they do if they get a task force after them?
