On his first full day in office, President Barack Obama ordered federal officials to “usher in a new era of open government” and “act promptly” to make information public.

As Obama nears the end of his term, his administration hasn’t met those goals, failing to follow the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act, according to an analysis of open-government requests filed by Bloomberg News.

Sept. 28 (Bloomberg)-- On his first full day in office, President Barack Obama ordered federal officials to "usher in a new era of open government" and "act promptly" to make information public. Megan Hughes reports on Bloomberg Television's "In The Loop." (Source: Bloomberg)

Nineteen of 20 cabinet-level agencies disobeyed the law requiring the disclosure of public information: The cost of travel by top officials. In all, just eight of the 57 federal agencies met Bloomberg’s request for those documents within the 20-day window required by the Act.

Well, scratch another bank of voters off the Romney list.

Wonder who else is left for him and his VP to alienate?

These nuns are self-described progressives. Like the OWS thugs, they are hopelessly blind to the realities of life. They're not really a bank of voters that ever were on the Romney list.

These nuns seem to have twisted thinking.

THEY are the ones who are helping the poor (just like Jesus).

But, unlike Jesus, somehow these gals think it is now the government's job to provide the funding.

These nuns need to quote chapter and verse where Jesus tells Caesar to fork over funds, so he can do his work. <LOL>

Funny, but that concept is found NO WHERE in his teaching.

?? Ok, I'll ask, where does it say we are to ignore the sick, the lame. Where are we directed to smite the weak and powerless? Where are we to make sure the hungry do not even receive crumbs from the master's table? Where does it say we are so much better than everyone else.

I do remember when Jesus was asked about paying taxes, and he said give unto Caesar that which is Caesar's; and give unto God that which is God's. He didn't follow that up with, you are to lobby Caesar to make sure we increase the ranks of the poor and sick.

So tell me your Christian opinion of those who, in order to pay less in taxes, push to eliminate the opportunity for millions to feed themselves, of those who wish to eliminate the chance for millions to obtain health care.

But Paul Ryan embraces Bishop Rmoney who paid for the abortion clause in his sons' surrogate mother contracts, you know the ones where the dozens of spare fetuses are destroyed or frozen.

It's kind of outrageous how you can contract to kill a baby if it's ugly or female or just because you don't want it and claim to be pro-life! Why would Paul Ryan run with Bishop Rmoney??? Well, it's like the bank bail-outs. You have to set aside your principles in order to preserve them.

Thanks for the help a-hole obama...

Americans boosted spending in August even though their income barely grew. But much of the increase went to pay higher gas prices, a sign they may have to cut back elsewhere in coming months. The Commerce Department says consumer spending rose 0.5% in August from July, the biggest jump since February. The increase was led by a 1.7% surge in purchases of nondurable goods, reflecting the sharp rise in gas prices during the month. The so-so numbers, along with weak manufacturing data and Europe worries, had the Dow down about 70 points at mid-day, reports MarketWatch. Meanwhile, the average price of US gas was about $3.80 this week, a record high for this time of year.

George Soros, the liberal billionaire investor who has largely laid low during the 2012 elections, announced $1.5 million in pledged donations Thursday to a trio of super PACs backing President Obama and congressional Democrats, PAC officials said.

Pew poll: Obama opens up lead over Romney among Catholics

By Dan Gilgoff, CNN.com Religion Editor

Washington (CNN)- President Barack Obama has opened up a significant lead among Catholic voters, a crucial swing voting bloc, according to a recent Pew poll.

Obama leads opponent Mitt Romney among Catholic voters by 54% to 39%, according to the survey, conducted from September 12 to 16 by the Pew Research Center for the People & the Press.

Obama’s lead in the Pew survey comes despite outspoken recent criticism of the Obama administration from America’s Catholic bishops and despite Mitt Romney’s selection of a Catholic running mate, Wisconsin Rep. Paul Ryan.

The survey was released last week, but the findings on Catholic voters were highlighted this week by the Religion News Service, which notes that Obama held a much tighter 49-47% lead over Romney among Catholics in a June Pew poll.

John Green, a religion and politics expert at the University of Akron, said Obama’s gains among Catholic came from growing support among Hispanic and black Catholic voters, but also from white Catholics, among whom Obama is now tied with Romney...
