Atheism to Defeat Religion by 2038

Apr 25, 2012 | Posted by: roboblogger | Full story: Psychology Today

My blog posts on religion have attracted a lot of controversy. Religious people are annoyed by my claim that belief in God will go the way of horse transportation, and for much the same reason, specifically an improved standard of living.

I went thru your long post and instead of answering it point by point, I would post a simple reply touching the basic question at stack.
A. Proper Approach:
I think I can trace your dilemma, instead of taking a broader view point, you want to justify your own teachings.
When you become narrow minded, you will not see the full picture.
In such cases, you should start with the Basic Question, Why there are so many religions in the world?
Or rather when the Creator of all human beings is one, how there could be different religions?
B. Why Different Religions?:
If there were different Creators, one who made Indians, another who made Chinese and another for Arabs and Europeans and Jews…. Then it is understandable that all these people have totally different religions.
Or if all the religions were at the result of people's own thinking and imaginations, then also it was understandable if they all were so different from each other.
But when all these religions claim that they are based on revelation which their originators received from the Creator of the universe, there must be some commonality in these religions.
Some differences due to local conditions and state of civilizations of countries / customs are expected, but not so fundamental differences so as to totally incompatible with each other.
My arguments therefore did make a common sense and they were based on reason and logic.
C. Abolish the Law:
On the other hand, you instead of tackling the problem on reason and logic went to quote extensively from Bible and expound the theology of Christianity.
There was no shortcoming in the Law by itself; people did not follow it because they did not want to follow it.
Whatever changes needed due to changing circumstances, might be covered by modifying it, but to abolish the law altogether, so that no one is found guilty of breaking the law, looks very strange.
D. Is "No Law" can work in other fields too?
Why can't the same principle work in other spheres too? Do we not see so many "imperfect" laws on Economy / Taxation / Traffic / Law and Order…. Since no one is able to follow them fully, would it be OK to abolish the entire laws so that no one is every found guilty of breaking any law?
So the Christian principle of abolishing law entirely is based unreasonable, and illogical.
E. No Law for not preached by any Prophet of God:
And more so, this idea was not preached by Jesus Christ, a prophet of God, but by St. Paul, who did not meet Jesus during his life time and did not learn any thing from him.
F. Back to original question:
You have not answered my question as to what was the name of religion of all past prophets? It was not Judaism, it was not Buddhism, it was not Hinduism, it was not Christianity, then what are we left with?
Great stuff ... we are back to irrelevant responses to the points you so nicely set out in your previous post and to which I responded point for point.
Unfortunately my friend, your totally irrelevant responses make any further reasoned discussion impossible.

Actually, that's not always true, but it is a common misconception.

The top of your page probably says -

"Posted in the Atheism Forum"

(right under the title of the thread)

However you need to look down at the bottom section of the page right underneath the mini-list of current threads in the forum where it says -

"Related Topix Forums: World News, Religion, Europe, United Kingdom"

Which is the list of all the other Forums where this particular thread is cross-posted. Each Topix user will be seeing this thread from their own perspective.

And I would add that there are no humanist or rationalist forums on Topix.(No ethics forum either). Atheism is a term related to religion, which might be seen by some as reason enough for religion to be discussed. What Topix really needs is a Rationalist or Humanist forum where no superstition (including religion) would be relevant. Perhaps mentioning superstition might reasonably be called trolling threads exclusive to forums entitled 'Rationalist' or 'Humanist'? However, threads might still be cross-referenced with other forums as Hedonist describes.(JMHO).

Bristol (England) University Christian Union (BUCU, see link above,) have completely lost the plot. This is Jesus & Mo's take on it...

I think that most people (the most rational people) have left Christian unions leaving only the most fundamentalist and daft.

Ans.
You are entitled to your opinion. But if you had the opportunity to rule any country, you will not make that remark.
And coming to serial killers and war criminals, I think you will find most of "Fathers of Nations" in the same list. George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Kennedy and almost every US President and Prime ministers and Presidents and most dictators would find the place in that "roughish gallery".
As one renowned historian wrote "It is not the size of his victories but rather the permanency of his teachings and his influence so long after his death that demand our respect".
There is no dearth of great warriors and great kings and great kingdoms in human history, but most of them are found only in pages of history books.
But our prophet's mission gains momentum with each passing date.
You should be ashamed of yourself, if you cannot see this fact right in front of your very eyes!!
I suggest you broaden your use of the English language by looking up the terms; strawman argument, comparing apples to oranges, deflection, red herring, logical fallacy, empirical proof, proving a negative, projection, etc.

I would also recommend that you learn to focus, your posts are always rambling off the point and I've yet to see you answer a question in a straightforward manner.

Which “Sword” the Prophet Used against his enemies: Part-58

Our prophet was not only a preacher. He was also an able administrator and a just ruler.

Those who have experience of administration know when to act tough and when to act with leniency. A King, Ruler and President knows which criminal to pardon and which to get executed. Those who do not have this experience may only speak in idealistic terms. Such idealistic persons are never able to administer any country or state with efficiency.

Beside so many “Swords” which we have mentioned earlier on this thread. He also had a sword of steel. When no other sword worked and the only solution was to wield the sword of steel, he used that also.

Any one who has read his biography knows that how reluctantly he had to use it. We present below, some of these cases, where prophet had to use the sword of steel.

The case of: UBAI’ BIN KHALAF OF MAKKAH

UBAI’ BIN KHALAF was a resident of Makkah, he was one of the most bitter enemy of Mohammad during his days of Preaching in Makkah. There were many people in Makkah who did not accept his message and rejected him and his message. Most of these people however respected the Prophet personally and aside from theological differences, did not use abusive language against prophet.

There were few people , however, who exceeded this bound and crossed all limits of social behaviour and decency when opposing him and his message, amongst such person was this UBAI’ BIN KHALAF, he used to taunt the prophet and used to lampoon his personality.

He used to come to say to the prophet, I have a horse and I feed him grain every day, so that he become big and powerful, I will ride on it and kill you from that horse….prophet used to keep quite listening to his boasts….when the things continued for many times….one day Prophet said, INSHALLAH, I will kill you one day.

UBAI’ BIN KHALAF got very much scared hearing these words of prophet, and he went away quietly thinking very hard. He missed the Battle of Badr some how….but he was with Makkan army when the Battle of Ohud took place….he was riding on his “fit and powerful” horse.

When the Muslim army went into disarray…and false news of prophet being killed spread like wildfire, this UBAI’ BIN KHALAF went in search of prophet saying “If Mohammad slipped from me this day, I will never get another chance to fulfill my vow”

He went on searching for prophet on the battle field, until he found prophet injured and surrounded by his few followers, He charged towards the prophet asking him to come forward and fight…..the followers wanted to stop him, but the prophet said,“No, let him come”.

When he reached near the prophet, prophet took a small spear from one of his companions, dodged his weapon and hit him with the spear which just scratched his skin near the neck. He made a loud noise and went away shouting “Mohammad has killed me,. Mohammad has killed me!”

He went back with the Makkan army howling and crying….Abu Sufyan, The Commander of Makkan army,, admonished him saying “It is only a facial wound, why you are making so much hue and cry about it”

“You do not know in how much pain I am” said UBAI’ BIN KHALAF “Mohammad had said to me in Makkah, Inshallah , I will kill you, by God, if he would have even spit on me, I would die”.

He went on crying and howling in pain till he died from that would during return journey to Makkah a few days later.

UBAI’ BIN KHALAF holds the dubious distinction of being the only human, to be killed at the hands of Prophet. Looser and hopeless is really the one who had to pick the “Sword of Steel” from the hands of prophet, ignoring all other “Swords” that he wielded.

Such was UBAI’ BIN KHALAF and such was his inglorious end.

It's just entertaining in a way. He believes he is showing Islam in a positive light and always argues that Muhammad was more than just a brutal warlord who executed people who already surrendered. And how does he show this

By post after post showing Muhammad in battle fighting, killing, raping, conquering and taking slaves and several wives one as young as 6, along with several slave girls!

I can see Muq now saying to himself, so these atheists think Muhammad was a brutal warlord? Well read about him conquering this tribe taking slaves and plundering their belongings! Ha! What do you soap using people have to say about the Profit Muhammad now?

Hi All.
I will be going on leave for....a month! Can you believe it!
With Christmas coming up,I just wanted to wish you all a wonderful time with your families and friends and trust it will a really joyous period.
During this time, there will also be those less fortunate than ourselves - spending time alone, in hospitals, jails etc. It is then a wish that something of the joy and peace of this period will touch their hearts, bringing even a little glimmer of hope and peace.
All the best for 2013 as well!
