When the Hollywood writers were on strike, Maher was having trouble grunting. He's a dope who needs other people to feed him material. He's also a coward, since he never say anything bad about Mohammed or Islam, lest they come after him.

More people kill in the name of religion than any other reason? Well, that's what they TELL us anyway. Me, I'm not buying it. This is just another way for people to try and blame something other than themselves for their own bad behavior. I firmly believe that people commit violence and start wars for their own personal selfish, greedy purposes and try to mask this from others by invoking religion. Does anyone here really believe that God told Bush to act? People who wouldn't believe anything else he ever said will take this statement as gospel truth simply because it supports their belief system to do so. Selective BS people, selective BS. Money, power, and fear make the wars go round no matter what the instigators of the conflicts tell their followers in order to get them to fight for them. If religion NEVER existed we would all still be killing each other off a fast as ever...who rally knows, maybe even faster. Those who start conflicts would just have to come up with a different rational to justify their own desires. Religion by itself doesn't start wars...people who are hungry for either wealth or power do that. Unless those who do this all go away somehow, things will never change. To suggest that things would be suddenly more peaceful if there were no religion is to ignore or be unaware of the basic makeup of human nature.
Science H. Logic....doesn't anyone get that? We are not violent because of religion, or atheism, or secularism, or any other ideas....we are violent because we are human, and human nature is violent, period. Well, actually, South Park did get it and explained it very well.

christians are annoying enough. Don't bring Muslims into it. They're a perfect example of why religion is one of the most destructive forces in human history. One moronic group of fairytale chasers at a time.

Your faith would become you, if you understood it. Interesting how Christians see offense in any criticism. You would think that God and/or Jesus would be capable of looking out for himself but the devout are always defending him so they can define him as their special friend.
Religion, Billions practice it and dozens get it right.
A big thumbs up to Bill Maher, the devout will have deal with a finger.

Good then start shooting people because normal morals is the Ten Commandments like it or not.

I ask the question do you fear society (prison) or Jesus?

Another unmoralistic person attempting to be a comedian. Complaining about and joking about religion is one thing but when you talk about, on Conan the other night, Gov. Palins daughter getting "Knocked up", yes a quote from him, he shows his true colors. How anyone can call him funny is beyond me. You just don't kid about things like that. What goes around comes around.
But she did get knocked up??? Seriously religious people really need to settle down, take a chill pill.

I always think it's weird that Bill Maher seems to hate religion, partly because of the divide it causes between people, and of the intolerance it can cause. He is just as intolerant of religion as the religious people he mocks.

This topic is just further proof of how fanatical and defensive people get over religion. This article was just a simple mention of a comedian's movie. As of 10:50a there are over 570 posts. Imagine how great this country would be if people were this enthusiastic about REAL and CONCRETE issues...

Interesting how athiests see offense in any criticism too. I find it curious that the athiests love to pick on Christianity, the religion that turns the other cheek, instead of, say, Islam, where I rarely see any criticism of Mohammed or the religion of Islam.

As far as i am concerned, the TEACHINGS of Jesus Christ are right on. Along the way the organized religion part just got in the way. But that's not to say that the Catholic church is evil, they have done many good and charitable things over the years.
