Bill was raised in a Catholic/Jewish household. He states he was a Catholic when he was young and takes great pleasure in lambasting the Catholic Church. I find it odd that I never hear a derogatory word from him against the Jewish religious establishment.
Bill should do what I do. I do not pontificate about my belief in God and His Church to Bill Maher. He should try the same practice towards the public. If there is a God, I'd rather be on the side of the believers than on the side of Bill Maher. If I'm right and he is wrong, what's his next play? Oops?

I don't think most folks understand Bill Maher. He makes his living saying things that get your attention. He doesn't care about the subject. If he thought it would get him more publicity to say that he believes in God, he would say that also.

If you disagree, ask yourself this. Name one other motive for preaching atheism.

I do not have the time to start from scratch and try to educate every doubter I encounter on these boards.
The facts are out there. There are literally thousands of websites, textbooks, and research papers available online.
I could post hundreds of these links, direct you to the Evolution threads here on Topix where real scientists and researchers post regularly.
But what good would that do? If you have to ask if gravity is superstitious because it can't be seen, then your knowledge of basic Biology and of the scientific method are so weak that all those big words are sure to intimidate you there too.
But here are a couple, just in case you do care to read up:
http://www.talkorigins.org/
http://www.nap.edu/catalog.php...
http://www.nsta.org/publications/evolution.as...
Us doubters don't need you to educate us. While some don't educate themselves nearly as much as they should, plenty of us have informed ourselves not only about the viewpoints you support but about the contrary ones as well. The "information" you would point us to only would seem "intimidating" to someone who is too uninformed to see the problems with it.(Someday I'm going to have to post my own refutation of talkorigin's page about "mutations adding genetic information" somewhere.)

Modern science developed because of Christianity, not in spite of it. Sadly too many intellectuals today (no doubt turned away from God by who-knows-what bad experience with religious people) have decided that a Creator is "irrational." All evidence is now interpreted by the assumption that life somehow created itself, because no other interpretation is allowed by those in charge. But many (including REAL scientists who aren't allowed to be heard much) know that the evidence fits much better with the assumption that there IS a creator (especially once one understands how mutations, natural selection & speciation fit into that picture).

Can you really claim that modern science has so totally disproven the existence of the Creator that he must not even be discussed? No way -- no way at all.

Maher is an idiot. He makes money off of publicity, negative or positive. The networks, producers, etc. are all making money from this garbage and that is the bottom line. If it be from this kind of caca or other, he will continue to put this stuff out there. If promoting religion would make them more money, that is what they would be doing. They are all laughing all the way to the bank. Just ignore these schmucks and they might go away.
Maher is an anti-human pro comedy liberal.

I dont like the guy, George Carlin good for me.

Only an idiot gets his/her newas from a comedy channel. Thats why liberals think this film is fantastic.

Objective views dont sit well with liberalsim. Its one way or the highway with the pukes.

I like him. He's only abrasive to those with thin skins. What exactly do you believe Americans should watch on TV? Talking heads rehashing the 2008 dog/pony politics? Please. Any break, even comedic, is preferrable to watching the appalling cast of charlatans that enjoy fencing. Thrust, parry, twist, twirl, and the best fencer will win the prized oval office.

Maher isn't hurting anyone because his personal opinions just do not matter.

Jabbing is one thing but kicking someone in the balls for no reason is another. Then to make it even more fiznucked up liberals will sit back and accept being kicked in the balls right back but claim they are victims of evil republicans.

You've all got it wrong! You need to check out my religion.

This is not an occult science. This is not one of those crazy systems of divination and astrology. That stuff's hooey, and you've got to have a screw loose to go in for that sort of thing.

Our beliefs are fairly commonplace and simple to understand. Humankind is simply materialized color operating on the 49th vibration. You would make that conclusion walking down the street or going to the store.

Lets look at democrat comedians (almost all)..

They act as if geo-politics is some kind of F'ing joke. Not to mention they blame the worlds trouble on the US with out doing any research on any issue. To them the worlds trouble is the fault of republicans.

Nothing's funny... liberal communism isnt funny.

Yea liberals make fun of all the free thinkers that arent in your cult... yea and use comedy central and the Chicago Tribune as a resource to fill your brains with propaganda.

Mr. Maher appears to be a devout left wing liberal with very limited ability to discuss issues as all of the guests on his program are of the same political view as his. He has not the courage or the conviction to debate any opposing viewpoint and is as far off the trail in his view of things as are the far right pundits he believes he rally's against. As for his views on religion everyone has the right to their opinion but all one really has to do is to look up in the heavens on a stary night and ask oneself in the grand scheme is it all just a freak accident of chemistry? If you truly belive it is more power to you, others might beg to differ.

This is an attack on Christianity.

I would love to see these fools pull this crizap on Muslims... No they wouldnt dare try it because its not PC.

Liberals just hate Christianity for the fact that the Ten Commandments happen to be logical human morals and ethics.

The fact that the Ten Commandments are established into religion really pisses off liberals.

Maybe, maybe not, but the bible sheds no reasonable explanation on the matter.

Lighten up Francis. Are you suggesting that the Bible is propaganda? Gee, I thought it was like an owner's manual. Use it, if you wish, or disregard and plunge ahead with your own personal repairs. JUST don't blame the manual if something goes wrong.

No, Some people just do not need comandments to live their lives in an upright manner. They realize morals have been handed down through countless generations of people deciding what is right or wrong, one might refer to it as evolution of vaules.

Your post proves me correct. christians are supposed to "love thy neighbor", yet here you are hoping I would die. You and your cult/"religion" are a crock.

I'm not a christian, and I hope you die in a car accident today. See you in "hell", jesus girl.
