Interesting. I have the impression from Buddhist that all things exist by our minds alone, because of univevsal consciencousness. Yet I have not met even one vegetarian/vegan that is a Buddhist, and whom's mind has the power to overcome eating dietary dead animal flesh and blood and fat gravy.

"Sounds reasonable to me, except for one problem: Why, then, has Western science—associated at least in part and in recent centuries with Judeo-Christian religious traditions—been so much more productive than has “Buddhist science”?"

I have the impression Buddhist have strayed along distance from the true teachings of Buddha. Buddha taught not to kill or cause slaughter, yet one Buddhist told me a bird flew in his window and he killed the bird with a stick, the bird could have brought a spiritual message from a spiritual or universal messanger, but the bird died in his own blood bath completely innocent. Seems to me the Buddhist path or pratice of enlightenment is truly dark-lit, self serving, and dim eyed.
I have never met a Buddhist that didn't stuff his desires with food, especially dead animals, than turn around and praise himself or his meditation, with long winded quotes from Buddhist scripture, while at the time serving their self and overinflated ego with self endulgence.

It could be that western science with Christianity has been more advanced because of real science instead of pseudoscience with people like Georges Lemitre, a Christian Catholic who discovered the big bang, or the expanding universe, or Issac Newton a Christian, or a forced Christian, who discovered gravity, or Galileo a Christian, or a forced Christian, whom discovered the rotation of the solar system. While Buddhist were stuffing their face with meat, and long winded Buddhist scipture.

..... There are many belief systems all over this planet; which ones makes people happiest and most contented?
..... Many years ago I attended a short series of lectures on Buddhism, and most I remember now is their emphasis on names, not on behavior of members;
which is similar to other belief systems. They talk a lot about what OTHERS should do, while they themselves only choose from their own religion what they like, and who ignore everything else their religion demands of them.
