As GOP Splits, Whose Side Is Fox News On?

Feb 7, 2013 | Posted by: Mr_Bill | Full story: mediamatters.org

With declarations of a conservative civil war being proclaimed this week, political combatants on the right are picking sides between Tea Party activists hungry for radical change within the GOP, and the Republican Establishment, which seeks to regain control of the party's message and improve upon 2012's election setbacks.

The establishment and the ones that will provide the most money for ad placements.

Ever wonder why they show commercials for Northrop Grumman? Not like you as an individual can buy a tank.

So why air them?

Actually, I'd rather put an asp down my pants than watch FOXLIES. But if they are showing military contractor commercials for hardware, they are only buttering someone's bread at (indirect) taxpayer expense.

This contractor money helps float Murdoch's continuous shill for extremism, and that's what these contractoes want. Fear & Sabre-rattling sells weapons systems.

But, FOXLIES, obviously, will go with Rove (the money;) unless the Koch brothers start coughing up $$$ MILLIONS, in which case, FOXLIES will have a split personality.

They all suck. Every one of them. Fox, ABC, CBS, NBC, name it. Horrible. All spinning either a RNC spin or DNC spin. Never the truth, never the facts in order to let people make their own conclusion.

And all they do is distract from the truth.

Perfect example. This morning walking past the TV, I almost throw the remote at it. ABD Good Morning America. One of the top stories: Lance Armstrong could face charges.

The reporter doing the story was talking about how Lance Armstrong could be brought up on Obstruction to Justice and Fraud charges. And the guy actually says, "Those are serious charges".

I about lost.

Where the hell were they when Goldman Sacks and JP Morgan ripped off millions of people?
Where were they when the DOJ dropped all charges for fraud against Goldman Sacks and JP Morgan?
Where were they when John the slime Corzine stole $1.6B from private segregated accounts?
Where were they actually trying to do their damn jobs and find the ties to Al Qaeda and WMD's that Saddam supposedly had?

I saw an old episode of Sliders last night on the Hub (recorded from Tuesday). It was media world. Where the sliders slid into a world where the media was more focused on scandals than the truth. In this world there was a big war going, but the media focused on some affair.

This show was made in 1999. And it is exactly what we got today.

The Koch Brothers are American and support American universities, charities, hospitals and American employment.
Rupert Murdoch is Australian and cares deeply about America.

George Soros who owns major portions of NBC was a nazi collaborator, want's American brought down and has bragged about.

We see what side you are on, don't we???

I'm thoroughly enjoying the civil war within the GOP.

This will ensure the Dems keep the Senate in 2014 and win the White House for the foreseeable future.

Which means a Dem will get to name the SCOTUS replacements for Scalia & Kennedy and flip the court to a solid 6-3 liberal majority for the next 30+ years!!!

I was talking about a liberal majority SCOTUS, along the lines of Ginsburg, Breyer, Stevens, etc.

And yet the GOPasaurs STILL couldn't win in 2012.

That's my only point; no matter how bad the Dems may be, the majority of Americans see the GOPasaurs as being even worse.

Any split within the Republican party only ensures future Democratic victories.

I am not too sure.

Registered voters that align themselves to Democrats and Republicans are on a major decline. Both Parties are loosing supporters in droves.

Combine that with 11M less people this past year, could be looking at a rise of solid third party.

Oh wait nevermind, the Dems and Repubs will work on the state to ensure that does not happen. Just like they did in Oklahoma and Penn.

But let me ask you this, apparently as a DNC supporter, why do you give them just blind faith and following? Especially when they are just as corrupt as the establishment Republicans?

What makes you assume I give them "blind faith and following"? I'm constantly contacting my elected representatives to let them know when I disagree with their policies. Sen Levin & Sen Stabenow are in my frequent email list.

The reason I vote for the Dems is because the GOP is worse on the issues most important to me; it's as simple as that.

I am curious. How much of a response do you actually get?

I got one response from Rubio. Complete bullshit form letter.

It really depends on the issue, but most are just form letter responses. That's really not suprising considering they probably get millions of emails every day.

I did notice that once I informed them I was a veteran I got a lot more personal responses from someone in their office, and was even invited to meet with Sen Levin when they were working on the DADT repeal.

I have received crap. The only one that would actually communicate was a staffer for Dolworth here in FL on a state level. And used my military exp as well.

I bet if I told them I had $25k contribution (bribe) that slimey SOB would show up at my door step.

Have you tried making an appointment to see them in person?

They tend to ignore 99.9% of emails they get and probably about the same percentage of letters & phone calls. But requesting an appointment to see them in person lets them know you are serious.

It took me 6 months to get an appointment with Sen Levin, but he at least pretended to listen to my concerns.

Not Murdoch's twisted vision of our country; nor the Koch brothers.

These are all fringe extremists who have used their huge fortunes to push their view of social darwinism on the weak minded, most likey to be eaten up.

Nope, no tea-bag or Rovism for me.

I know nothing about Mr Soros, and could care less. He is a Murdoch bugaboo, and that you think you know all about him shows you to be in Murdoch's thrall.

And since Fox news destroys it competition in the ratings almost every night its a policy the others might want to emulate.
