So, that seems pretty authoritative. Where's the confusion? The confusion starts with his 1997 125cc and 1999 250cc World Championships, and continues in 2000 with his 500cc World Championship, before moving on to the "MotoGP" class.

I totally agree Rossi is a master, but everyone seems to forget a person called Mick Doohan who won five 500cc world championships straight, a feat Rossi didn't do. So is Rossi the greatest of all time? Thats an impossible question to answer, and I just wish commentators would stop saying he is.

Rossi has won world championships in 125, 250, 500, 1000motogp and 800motogp only Nicky Hayden and Casey Stoner have won apart from Vale since he joined GP racing. GOAT? I think so.
