OCTOBER IS DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AWARENESS MONTH. No thanks...I don't need free tickets. I have connections with the team that won the championship this year along with some suppliers. As I recall, the talk this year was of how high the attendance at the 500 was. Maybe you're confusing your 4's and 5's.

No one has ever question Tony was and is a great driver many have questioned Jimmy's qualification of greatness....Tony's driving speaks for itself and is enhanced by the fact he hs done his great driving even with different manufactures and teams. Jimmy's is in question as to whether its Jimmy ,Chad or Ricks money that just make him look decent. Or if it takes all three to make him look good. And it is not just me that has questioned Jimmys talent or lack there of... It is the topic of numerous articles and blogs, so why do you keep responding to me if your sure he is the second coming of christ go with it , just understand not everyone feels that way. I still say if jimmy wants peoples respect step out of the comfort zone show us what your made of . One of the things i love about Tony and why I am a fan is he steps out of his comfort zone and tries new things ...he is up for the challenge and proves his abilities everytime he gets behind the wheel. Jimmy is complacent at best....Many are not convinced he is as great as you think he is....He may very well be great but he will need to show me more deversity before I will jump on that bandwagon. I still think it could be the trifecta of ricks money, chads crew cheifing and jimmy driving . Take one of first two away and see if Jimmys that great. For me the juries out(and it may be for others)...and that is my opinion. You do not have to like it or even agree with it. Get used to people not worshiping him the way you do and this is getting as boring as jimmy is so I am done responding. You have your opinion I have mine and god knows we could both be wrong. Have a pleasant day.:) Oh I think a more exciting chase would be JPM and Tony battling..They are both firce competors, they would bring back excitement that is lacking and fire to and otherwise boring chase and they would pack the stands and TV ratings would rise as well. Perhaps People will tune in for that firey duel...and stay glued to their chairs. Maybe next year!!!

I do hear that Dario is quite the princess though. Even more so than Wheldon was.

When we were in Florida for the first race of the season Weldon took my friend Nikki for a ride through the streets and scared her almost to death. That was a fun trip and she works for IRL.I think they need more drivers in the races to make it more intresting, and by the way I am not a Danica fan....

He is a very nice guy. A friend of ours took his 5 year old son to Indy practice year before last and sat behind the Target pit box. Wheldon came over to say Hi. Travis told Wheldon that he was friends with me. Wheldon came around the fence ans sat with Travis and his son Ben for awhile. Ben thought that was great. As for more drivers, I think low 20's is about the right amount of drivers. Too many on track at those speeds can get really dangerous. I also am not a Danica fan. She was in my building this past spring doing the photo shoot/press launch for Boost Mobile. Her security wouldn't let anyone who works her look into the hanger where all the "festivities" were going on.

Perhaps People will tune in for that firey duel...and stay glued to their chairs. Maybe next year!!! Sorry you feel that way. A bunch of jealous fans does not make statements they make true though. Just because people become disillusioned watching Jimmie win time and again, doesn't mean his driving should be brought into question. Would the same hold true if Jeff or Tony won 3 straight, possible 4? I don't think so. So why Jimmie than? I know you want to keep comparing Jimmie's career with Tony's, but I can't agree with your comparisons. Tony didn't push any envelope or try new things. He had the same crew chief his entire time with Gibbs and he didn't have any choice in the matter if Gibbs decided to switch manufacturers. He was told to driver whatever direction the organization decided to go in. Yet, no one questioned what he was doing. Why do you think that was? It's ridiculous to think a guy has to drive for different manufacturers or even crew chiefs to be considered great. Why would anyone willingly leave what has worked for them. Quite frankly, probably the only reason Tony is now half owner of his own team is Gibbs decision to leave Chevy. Had they stayed with Chevy, I think Tony would still be driving that 20 car. That's a mistake that Rick Hendrick doesn't have to make. He's the number one team for Chevy and his guys reap the benefit of that. That shouldn't be a crutch to criticize what they've accomplished, but be admired for the relationship and success that he's built with the manufacturer. Anyway. I know we've thrown some insults each other way and that probably wasn't the best way to handle this. I'll apologize for my part in that. I know you have your beliefs and I have mine. Don't get me wrong, I support what I say 100%. I'll always believe I'm right over anyone else's opinion. One thing I've learned about opinions though, they're very hard to change. It was fun. Hopefully we can find some things that we agree on around here too.

However, Tony has won championships in multiple series. As good as Jimmie is, I think this puts Tony ahead of him.

i just believe driver of the decade should be some one that has had sucess in all forms of racing and multiple manufactures some one who is the total package, and prefferably with differing teams and cheifs. It takes alot to mesh with and have chemistry with more than one person or groups of people and to be able to adapt to what is thrown at you on any given day or race.
If you want to talk Nascar Driver of the Decade then it should be someone who has worked on different teams and manufactures (especially pre cot) and still have sucess.Demnstrating their flexability and ability to wheel it in anything.
driver of the year should be whomever won the championship that year.

I can understand what your saying. I can't totally agree with it, but it does hold some validity. The major problem I see with what you say though, at least for me, is that it penalizes a driver. The drivers really have no control over what manufacturer they drive for, nor the people they work with. They may have some input in those decisions, but ultimately that's an owner decision. For me, the proof is in the success of the driver. Obviously it's an advantage to race for Hendrick, Roush, Gibbs, etc. as opposed to a team that doesn't have much in the way of funding, but just about every modern era driver had that advantage. There are some exceptions, but not many. Because, in the end, there are still teams out there who are as strong as you are and that's your main competition. When you beat guys like Stewart, Gordon, Martin, Biffle, etc. consistently, than you deserve the respect for your talent that should come with that. Jimmie isn't getting that acknowledgment. Instead, he's getting (what I consider) unwarranted criticism. He's beating the best drivers in the sport right now, who also have good crews and equipment and he's doing it in stunning fashion. That speaks volumes to me and should to others too. Driver of the decade, if were talking Nascar, than I don't see anyway that Jimmie doesn't get the nod. Especially if he wins his 4th straight this year. To accomplish something no one has ever done and double the amount of championships of any other driver in the decade, how could it possibly be anyone else. Don't get me wrong, Tony is his closest competitor for it. He's had a great amount of success this decade also, just not as good as Jimmie. Now, if Tony could come back and win the championship this year, it would probably be a toss up as to who's best this decade. Than, their success would be on such a similar level, that it would be hard to pick. You might almost have to call them co-best of the decade. Who's the better driver? Well, that's really subjective depending on who you like more. I can tell you this. They are 2 of the best.
