I am not disappointed that they didn't fine Tony for what he did after the race.
But can anyone imagine if that would have been Kurt or Kyle Busch what NASCAR and the media would be up to.

I did not expect Tony to be fined for his actions. I'm not sure any punches between he and Logano connected.

Why am I surprised though that Logano got off scot-free? Has Nascar been living in a cave? Did not they hear Logano's threat after Bristol, and then hear him confirm he made good on the threat after California?

I'm sure they would have made a different decision had it been Jr or JJ airlifted to the hospital.

Nascar has disrespected Denny again - outweighing Penske and sponsorship over his welfare. Why does that surprise me, too?

This doesn't take the target off of Logano's back. Nobody wants to see him hurt, but since Nascar allows them to handle it on the track, I think the drivers will.

Nothing will happen .For the last 2 days on SN 98% of the drivers from truck , NW & cup all stated Smoke was in the wrong.< This had to feel like a pail of Ice water thrown in Smoke face & a kick in the gut. 99% of the Smoke Fans stated Smoke was in the wrong.( BTW Do not take it out on me I had nothing to do with it.)
As far as J LO & Denny the drivers & race fans opinions were all the same it was good ole aggressive racing.Plus many of the drivers stated the same thing Smoke explained at speed weeks. For some reason when the new car get side by side it takes off.Smokes hand motion made it look like stretching a rubber band as far as it will go & releasing it.< Who knows the driver are the one driving these cars not me. The drivers & fans have spoken.

It is this reporter's opinion, and I totally concur, that Joey just doesn't have Tony to worry about.

Well the good news NASCAR has changed the point system.Denny can miss 5 races & still make the chase. Is it possible ? It will be interesting to watch.

How long have people on here followed racing. Before the COT drivers were hurt weekly . Bad sprains , broken bones, dislocated shoulders & many many concussions.< All these injuries were caused by 2 drivers getting together. Look at the injuries Smoke had before the COT. All caused by Smoke & a driver getting together!! If a driver is afraid of getting hurt they have no right in a race car.

Was it Ricky Rudd who raced with his eyes taped open with duck tape at Richmond and actually won the race?

They didn't change the point system... If Denny stays in the top 20 and wins the most races between 11th and 20th place drives then he can take one of the wildcard spots. Missing 5 races I don't see him staying in the top 20 though but it is mathmatically possible.

Of course he could always start each race and pull into the pits after lap 1, get out of the car and hand it over to another drive and he would be credited with the points. This rule has been around forever. This could actually keep him in the top 20 and eligible for a wildcard spot.

This is the Media job. After all would you have read this story if the headline read . THERE WILL BE NO PAYBACK FOR JOEY LAGONO ? THEY just played an interview with DH . Denny is putting blame for his injury on the fact where he hit there was no safer barrier . And nothing else. But it is what a experience driver would say. Hell lets not forget Dale Sr last words to RC. After Smoke big accident at the 500 minutes before he was killed.( Nascar better change these car or someone will get KILLED!!!)< Dale blamed the lack of safety in the car not the driver that caused Smoke to wreck. More importantly was any driver that hit Sr. face criminal charges ??? Its racing!!

NASCAR is not going to penalize or discourage this type of behavior. It needs stuff like this to attract new fans to it's fading show.

I But it would be cool if he did pull it off.strangers things have happened. But on the other hand. It would make driver look bad that can not make the chase driving all the races.LOL

This statement is probably the only thing NASCAR would consider a penalty for.......if recent events are any guide.

But it is true . If there had been a safer barrier more & likely Denny would not have been hurt. Drivers R going to bang into each other , spin each other out. And get out of the car & bitch slap each other. And drivers will get hurt it is part of the sport.

When petty had a broken neck (cervical fracture) He started and parked his car for the points.

I sure hope you wouldn't suggest Hamlin get back in the car and risk being paralyzed before he can heal.

Even if Denny wanted to race, Nascar or Gibbs would not let him until cleared by a doctor.
