soon to be ex-officer

I am a soon to be ex officer /prison guard! I REALLY detest this deplorable job. It is not a career as it takes no actual intelligence to belittle and bully a person. And no intelligence is the determining factor when hiring an officer! We have to be below a certain I.Q. to follow asinine orders without question! I have been employed with the GDOC nearly a year now and ONLY to acquire funds for college! A congressman once said IF YOU WANT TO SEE THE LOW LIVES IF SOCIAL GO TO A PRISON SHIFT CHANGE! These are our board talking about us, their employees!
My Co workers are no better than the criminals we oversee! Especially not the perverts and molesters when we exploit female guards and coerce them into committing to a system of rank for sex! We drink! We fight! We steal! We kill and sexually abuse too! Recently my Co worker was slapped on the wrist for forcing a female to perform oral intercourse on him because his family is Well known in the prison system! He should be one we oversee! Yet that shows the racist system as it still is!
In my college studies I came across narratives Where former slaves said no prisons existed during slavery but afterward there were many! I think Frederick Douglas said it best that it's a peculiar system that will ALWAYS be around and that it will ONLY change names! Now I'M sure they committed crimes to get Where they are but I'M unsure if they deserve the bias sentence they got nor if the conviction even came from truthful trials! You have to consider the defendant being a victim as Well facing a judge, district attorney and even defense attorney whom has financial stock in the system they work for! Why wouldn't they send as many souls as they can to prison for as long as they can merely to protect their investment?! Think! If possible?!
There are 3rd world countries with serious human right problems as opposed to the united states! But in those countries the person does their time and give home! Here they NEVER see home! And I suppose some should not! Nevertheless, Georgia has completely abandoned rehabilitation! It has moved to warehousing and warehouse guards! Georgia has the 3rd largest prison system in the US! Georgia was also the strong Hold to the Confederacy and slave trade! Meaning it has ALWAYS made it's money off of people in bondage! As for us? We don't get said enough to deal with the violence, the mental health problems, the idiocy of our own boses , the long hours with no extra pay and the subjugation that shouldn't be of certain ethnic and gender classes!!!!!!
I have learned ALOT and tend to take my intelligence elsewhere! I'M sure there are many if my own Co workers whom disagree but I'M not going to be standing at the head if a chief hall line Counting trays for the next 30 years thinking I'M a big shot when I'M REALLY not. Serving a system that has me there as an employee wondering if I'll make it home and if I don't then hardly any benefits go to the family I left behind! I'M also a little too proud than too be called officer or guard when I'M intelligent enough to be called doctor or your Senator!

Why would anyone want to be confined? They stay but we volunteer to be confined! By the time we retire we have served more time within those walls than they have! I wouldn't want to make it on the inside! I'd rather flourish on the outside with freedom! Wear business suits and not an uniform! Make my own money, take my own breaks! And not be in a cesspool of ignominious instructions, no over time pay, perverted Co workers that prey on their Co workers spouse, etc! Why would I want that when I can do better? And by the summer I will be! There is no reason to lower my standards or limit myself When I have the potential to be and do way much MORE! No self imposed over exaggerated self proclaimed civic duty is going to poison my future! And I Hope most if not all of you will hone your skills, use your intellect and move on as well! BECAUSE YOU WILL BECOME A PRODUCT OF YOUR OWN ENVIRONMENT TOO!

We are being targeted as well. My son is an inmate at Hays and we have had threatening phone calls for money. My son is now in PC and the Unit Manager has assured me that he is safe. I have spoke with the councilor, the unit manager and left messages for the deputy warden to have my son transferred out of that hellhole and to no avail have I accomplished anything. The guards are afraid of certain inmates and allows them to dictate the rules in there dorm, they have a blind eye to the illegal activity going on inside. I don't think that someone with a lesser sentence should be housed with murderers that have a life sentence. The life sentence inmates have nothing to lose. What is it going to take to get this facility under control? Media attention please, we as concerned parents for our loved ones need HELP.
You are completly wrong on so many levels about the officers that work there. you really need to get facts stright first

I agree. The guards need to be locked up too. They are just as much as a criminal as the ones that are locked up. And why is the warden still there. I mean three deaths in a month. He needs removed. I understand it all can't be prevented but someone wasn't doing their job for three in a month. So start with the warden then deputy warden and go down till the warden gets these guards weeded out it not going to stop after all isn't the prison his responsibility.
You have no place to talk till you have actually worked in a place like that. not all gaurds are bad. yeah you may have a few but think there is other people that work at these prisons as well such as admin food service counselers so forth and so on

you people are so stupid. i pulled thirteen years. i been to hays, waycross, telfair, macon and phillips. not to mention all the medium camps. your whole prison system is a joke. you gaurds bring in the phones and the dope and sell pussy to these guys so you can pay your bills cause the state thinks your job is a joke. some gaurds are there to help but most could care less what happens. i have seen first hand how easy it is to get you ass holes to bring in what they wanted. you need to segragate the inmates. put all whites with whites and blacks with blacks . i bet you will have ten times more problems out of the blacks than any other race they are the ones who play with thier cocks in front of you or rape a young inmate who just came in . give thier ass some training on the street and they may stand a chance. white boys have two strikes against them when they come in they are white and thought of as week. gaurds stop bithching and do your dam job.

I gotta agree with just released..The inmates that pull their dick out of their pants and start jacking off in front of 120 men when a female (especially a pretty white female) is in the area are 100% black..No more than jungle savages..Only a real sexual predator will whip out their dick and play with it in front of a 100 other men..I've seen it happen 100"s of times..The only thing funny about it is when the inmate is fixing to blow his load..everybody scatters to avoid the flying spunk.
