If the gaurds weren't so sheisty and didn't bring shit in the prison and they put all the gang members in one prison it would be safer for every one.it would stop all the extortion cause then the inmates would be able to pay the guards to turn their heads.and people would be alive!!!!!!!

My oldest son is in there. He was moved from Henning,Tn. where he done three yrs. he will come home dec.2012 if he isnt killed first. The day he got to Tiptonville someone was stabbed and died and now another one,he never seen this in the other one.I pray he comes home,he stoled some things and he needs to be punished .I mean he is no diffrent than anyone else, but he has done more time than several people across Tenn. that has been in jail for murder.I believe something could be done to stop some of this violance in this one pen. They say it is one of the worst ones in Tn.

Well "Capt" if you were doing your jobs and watching the guards closer, you wouldnt see more of it! Damn all of you that say you don't have enough funds! fire the thieves you have working for you and put honest people in thier place. Unless you are getting a piece of the pay offs! The guards know this is happening before it does.... what does this have to do with funds?
They are paid off so well that they not only turn their heads, they then write the victim up as if they had done something wrong instead of the offenders(the payees).
This is one of the most screwed places I have ever heard of and yes I have a son in there and yes he has done things to have to pay the time for but all of this other stuff is not suppose to be part of the punishment. Screw the guards and lock their butts up when they get caught bringing in the phones, the dope, the cigerettes and everything else. Screw them when they are caught turning their heads and taking bribes. Charge them with their crimes! Search them when they come into work! Dont allow them to have anything in the jails when they come in. This isnt rocket science... Tell the warden its his jail! Fix the problem!
Its not the "less officers to work with" , its the officers you have employed they are just as criminal as the criminals that are in there....if not more....they are just as much part of a murder as the murderer or the offense taking place!

Ya know i have a 9 and 13 year old by an inmate in tiptonville, he has the luxury of a cellphone, which pisses me off, I'm out in the fucking real world doing my best to provide for our kids. My 13 wants a cellphone but i can't afford it. I wish somone would take his ads out so at least they could live comfortable on his S.S.

Maybe if law enforcement and/or proper authorities would do their jobs before the convicts reach a prison. A lot of crime could be prevented long before an inmate inters a prison. Many authorities know / hear of crimes while sitting at the donut-shop or other places. But today in time, I guess it's go after the criminals who they think are the worse.

Funding is short.

Prisons are over crowed. But, money still talks ... and ... yeah.

Today, every-man is for himself.

Solution: Each man take ten steps back ... and may the best-man win.

You are an idiot...that can't spell. To begin with, if you knew the first thing about prison or law enforcment, you would know that law enforcment are who make the arrests AFTER they commit a crime. How is law enforcment supposed to stop a crime that has not been committed??? And, when they make the arrest and it goes to court, that is where law enforcments job ends. The prisons problems are due to lack of morals, ethics and respect for the law on the part of some guards and the administration. It has NOTHING to do with law enforcment. Get it right, you can not imagine the stress and danger that good honest law enforcment go through, nor the stress of someone with morals and ethics go through working in a crooked prison. Exprience one or the other before you share your ignorance...

First of all the guards are told to be tough on the prisoners when in fact some of them do care about what is happening in there, They are not suppose to be friendly and show concern for the violators; so they are suppose to be inhumane officers. Does anyone realize that the prisoners are humans and no matter what they have done the officers are still suppose to protect and serve, They are made by Admin to put pods in lock down when things do not go according to policy, they are fired when they show concern for the inmates, Admin walks in and the green team and all hell breaks loose. I just would like to see some care some understanding some incentive that we know you have done wrong but you are still my fellow bretheren and we will meet the needs you have while in the facility. I had a cousin work in NWCX and have had a cousin in here and now my husband is there. It is the worst prison for gangs and violence BUT with that said when YOU TREAT A INDIVIDUAL LIKE A DOG THEY WILL ACT LIKE A DOG AND REMEMBER DOG'S WILL BITE WHEN CORNERED !!!!!!!!
