Madoff surprised he wasn't caught sooner

Full story: www.msnbc.msn.com

As Bernard Madoff sat in jail a few months after pleading guilty to fraud, he sounded faintly boastful. The only problem with officials at the Securities and Exchange Commission's Washington headquarters, he said, is that he had "too much credibility with them and they dismissed" the idea that he was scheming people out of billions of dollars.

Yes, when he was asked a question potentially exposing his scheme, he told a lie thinking they would surely check on it and arrest him.

They Never checked or Enforced the laws.

That's the crux of these problem with Congress & Obama claiming NEW REGULATIONS are somehow required when the laws are already on the books.

Problem was that Congress, SEC, & Treasury DID NOT ENFORCE THEM. Most of the lack of enforcement wasn't because of Trust; IT WAS BECAUSE OF MONEY & Cozy Relationships.

Daily Horoscope for December 5

Cancer

You're much more in command of your emotions today, which is just as well. You can get a lot done, as your personal energy and natural empathy is high. You'll be especially effective when it comes to clearing your desk of all the paperwork, and I'm not talking about shoving it on to the floor, either. If you've been waiting for news of a pay rise or bonus, it could arrive any moment now.
