Listen... yes they are inmates and have broken the law! Have you ever broken any laws? Any.... no matter how small or how big have you ever broken the law? Be truthful! Yes we all have done something at some point in our lives that is illegal. Do you still want respect? Yes you do! I work in a prison and i have leanred over the years that RESPECT is all the inmates wants. Did Officer Sharp give that to those inmates. NO he did not. Trust me i know first hand that he did not. Was it right for the inmates to do what he did? NO! But, a little respect will get you a long way. So, all of you reading this just know that if you want respect give it. You will be amazed how the inmates will respect you and the way you run your DORM! Im not saying that Officer Sharp is wrong 100 percent. He just doesnt know how to talk with these guys! Been there and saw it. You jus cant talk to people like crap. Inmate or not R E S P E C T everyone.

I understand respect for respect, but that is a two way street. I have seen Officers disrespect some inmates, but have seen the same thing from inmates. Overall I believe each side does have that layer of respect for each other. You only hear about the few bad ones.

Where was the respect for the victims of these scumbags' crimes? Fill the prisons then burn 'em down!

just for the record, the dorm i was attacked in was a one officer dorm. i respect the inmates, passed out mail on time, let them have extra time out in the dorm at night so they could get ice, or what ever, didnt trash there rooms durning my searches, helped clean when things needed to be done in a short time. i dont know who the person is that said

"Did Officer Sharp give that to those inmates. NO he did not. Trust me i know first hand that he did not."

But im telling you now they dont have the slighted idea on what there talking about. the dorms i work in were always one officer dorms. The only officer i was with was about 3 or 4 months after the attack happened and he was so new that the inmates were walking all over them and i tried to help him understand the basic rules, like letting them plug there hot pot all up and down the hall for someone to trip on.

look, this is the past, and ive moved on. i just wish that if people are going to talk trash about what happened, that they were actually IN that dorm, oh wait, they were not there.

also a little side note, the one serving the life sentence should never have been on the yard, he was NOT med. custody like they said he was. KSR is over populated and under staffed. and ill tell you something else, a few of the admin staff there, are not worth nothing. you tell me its right for someone new to come in and get promoted from officer to serg. to lt. in less then a yr just because they suck up to the capts. NO! its not right, but thats how some of them do it there.

I pray for those them and woman still serving as officer there that do there jobs, i hold no hard feeling on what happened as its the past.

i do however thing that if you want to know what happened, dont just sit there and say "hay i was there i know" when you wernt.

god bless you all and keep you safe.

I now the facility and the officers well. There are some who are good and there are some who have no people skills at all! There is no psychological testing given to officers when they are hired. Some, I know, are just plain cruel and disrespectful. The inmates should not have attacked anyone, period! However, the grivance process of reporting bad conduct by officers is horrible! Nothing is done to officers whose conduct and/or attitude is poor or even terrible. I was hoping the new Warden would clean things up since Chandler was a big part of the problem in the past.

For Sharp: with your comment about people being promoted at KSR. Just because someone is new and they get promoted doesn't mean they were kissing ass or that they don't deserve it because they are new. There are new officers coming in that have experience or college degrees or are just damn good officers do what they are told to do and follow the rules. Just because someone has been there for a certain amount of time doesn't mean that they deserve it more. Have to earn it. Also as far as the you working dorms that just have one person, I find that hard to believe seeing how there are only a few that have one officer. And most people "float" from one place to another. I was bad what happened but yes have to give respect if you want respect.
