This should work out to be a good program. Putting most drug offenders in prison does not rehab them. They just learn how to get more and better drugs.

I am so glad that this facility recognizes that chemical abuse is a desiese that can be corrected if given a chance. Usually the chemical is what is used to hide hurt that is buried deep in a person, that doesn't know how to express there feelings!I know in my Heart that god wants people to be disiplined for the actions of there desiese and to recover if given a chance! Because only punishment instead of disipline will not help them deal with there hurt or help them change there ways to be a better person in life! with the right help and if they want to be helped they deserve a chance to recover and have a chance in society to enjoy life the way God meant it to be!!!
Very well said!

1 min ago I truley don't understand why the judicial system does not treat the the people in need for recovery of the chemical desiese as any other, and place them under rehabilitation in society where they can learn to deal with the real world while learning to deal with recovery!! I personally know punishment behind bars is not gonna solve the problem, it only take there freedom as punishment but does not resolve what got them to the point of using in the first place!!!! I can understand some jail time, but if they haven't hurt anyone then its only punishment, and not the solution to changing them to become better people in society, but if the stay is really prolonged it has only added to there real problem, and has not helped them become the the better side of the person they lost in drugs or alcohol to start off with!!! I know no one sets out to become a drug addicted person or alcoholic in life, I believe long term rehab. on the outside would benefit a person than caging them up like animals!!! Have you ever caged a cat for a long time and then let it loose, cause if you have you would know they don't know which direction to go and may get in more trouble than before!! The man I Love is there for DWI's and has 17yrs. and never hurt anyone, and they put child molesters back on the street ,but just need to know where there at,and have to let others know what they did, but the sad part of that is they emotionally and sometimes phsically destroyed another human life!!!! What since does that make????? Lets learn how to help them ,not strip them from becomming better people in society!!!!

My husband has had life time issues with substance abuse. He was raised on the streets from the age of 14 and has been in and out of jail on a regular basis for the past 20 years. He was saved and sober for 18 months then had a relapse which landed him back in jail. He was in a Louisiana parish jail waiting to learn how to get into Forcht-Wade and today he was sent to another parish jail with no programs that would come close to helping him. We have a 10 month old ( and he thought he could never have children) and a 4 year old who is attached to him like no child I have ever seen. This is the hardest thing anyone could go threw. We prayed and prayed for help and have no clue what to do now. He will do what ever portion of the 3 year sentence the judge gave him then be on parole for 7 years. 1 violation will put him back in prison for 14 years. HE NEEDS TO BE IN FORCHT-WADE. Any information on how he can get there would be greatly appreciated. For the sake of his children and the for the love of God! Help Please!

My son was at Dixon and was hoping to get on a work release program. He was sent to Forcht Wade. He has learned so much about himself that he actually is enjoying this program. He has been in and out since he was a teenager now entering his thiries. He took anger management and I laughed as he was never angry. WRONG!!! HE IS EVEN GIVING UP HIS GOOD TIME TO FINSIH THE DRUG TREATMENT. If, you want your loved one to enter this program, call the Wared where he is now and ask that he be sent to Forht Wade. If that doesn't work call the social worker at Forcht Wade. It is a smaller center, but they treat them with compassion. Even have volleyball tournaments and winners get a 6 pk. of coke and Little Debbies. I too, was told after this program he would never want to put another pill in his body. Visitation room small, butnot many visitors. I feel so good about this program and my son does too. Wish Global Tel link will fix phones.

Call Global Tel Link 800-231-0193. Stay on your phone until you talk to a rep. Give them a credit card number and you will be able to receive calls.
