This prison covers up deaths that guards and personnell commit and then just notifies families when they feel like it that their family has been murdered and have no explanation. I am outraged about this prison facility and they will pay for everything they are doing to these prisoners. God sees all...

It happens a lot more than people realize. Some of these COs are on a power trip. They'll go tell the gangs to "clean house" on a guy. Crazy.

I don't know what happened but would tell you that evil spreads when good people do nothing. That being said, if this is your family I would call your Attorney General's office in Jackson and explain the situation to them. Also, University Mississippi law center can also be a good resource for you. There is no charge for either. Good Luck and sorry for your loss!

Sorry to the family for your loss. I have been there myself, so I do understand your pain.
You would think that the co's/staff are responsible for the welfare and safety of the inmates as part of their job; if they aren't- then what exactly IS their job?
If a babysitter were to have someone they were in charge of, die- they would be fully investigated for murder. Even if they didn't purposely kill who they were watching- they would still be criminally responsible for the death, merely because it happened on their watch. Correct?
Why doesn't the same apply to correctional officers? Inmates aren't treated as people, and they are looked upon as "lesser" people - people who don't really matter to the outside. If one dies in jail; very little attention is paid to why it happened, or who it was done by, or why those in charge could allow it to happen in the first place. The co's get a pass as far as responsibility, and the public is willing to overlook it, because: "it was "only" some inmate scum who doesn't matter anyway"; says joe public.
Its shameful.

If you can't do the time don't do the crime. They are all locked up for a reason.

That's plain wrong. Prisoners don't get locked up to get killed by anyone, let alone gang members. You'd change your tune if it were one of your family members......or yourself!

emcf is just a mess its too much bullshit that goes on its some inmates that respects the cos but alot of inmates get away with alot of shit but that place is very unorganized they treat the cos like inmates everybody take their authority to another level it is dangerous out there and the men need to stand up mostly women working the most dangerous units when you call for help you cant get it because the captains or luientants too damn lazy or scared to back you up the people just dont care about the cos at all why risk your life for a low paying job people have to make a living thats why they are so shortly staff because its full of bullshit how can cos watch over inmates and they so shortly staff too much go on at one time you just cant find no good help because people dont care people just do not care so why should people risk their life and they dont pay no money 10 dollars an hour wow how the inmates get 55 inch flat screen tvs and mp3s and a xbox thats just outstream the wardens majors captains and luietnants just dont care and they have real bad attitudes they dont care about nothing

I agree its the most unorganised for profit prison in the state, several murders have occured there and numerous inmates are stricken with staph infection and are not given treatment for it as this digs into the for profit approach they have. The units are all gang (bgd) controlled and staff often brings in weapons for the gang members there. Many of the staff are gang affiliated themselves mostly Black Gangster Disciples, this gang offers nothing for its members but misery and pipe dreams.
I know first hand about the gangs being the ones who run that prison. And yes, many many of the CO's are gang members as well. Mostly GD. I've witnessed a lot with my own eyes. I worked there. I was well aware of the fact that nobody has your back. You don't know who is who. Just because they are an officer doesn't mean they are on the side of the law. It took me awhile to recognize things and I had to be very careful and keep my eyes wide open. It is a dangerous situation when you are a nurse there and you have no clue who you can trust. The guards are just like the inmates. I ended up using the gangs to my advantage by knowing who was in leadership (of the gangs) and knowing who was affiliated with each gang. It was the only way to keep myself safe. Did not and could not trust the officers. Even high ranking officers were gang affiliated. If you work there stil. Trust no one.

So if someone was locked for robbery and doing their time and only had 2 more weeks to be finished paying for their crime and didn't do anything else to anybody would that mean they deserved to be killed because the correctional officers were not doing their job? Yea, you would change your mind if it was your father, brother, or husband or loved one you were waiting for or maybe your only child you were waiting for to come home.
Or what if it was an innocent person wrongfully convicted?
No one deserves to be murdered in a prison.
Being sentenced to death in court after a trial by a jury and judge is another whole issue and that would be a whole other debate if someone disagreed with the death penalty or not. But it would not be up to somone in the jailhouse to murder another prisoner. It would be decided by a jury at trial for the crimes commited and as you say, it would actually be paying for the crime.
