I am a ex inmate there at anthony as well as lakin corr facility and if someone took the time to go in and look for a week at what goes on you will see what we had to except from them.Now don't get me wrong there are fine officers and you all know who you are.However there are those that took advantage of us. I am one of those who is a victime and I can almost bet my life they will not do as much time as I for a paper crime that I spent seven years for. For the small amount $1,500. We will never forget what you did. And I pray that you never forget either.

First of all I want to say that I worked there and I think its pretty amazing that an inmate can have sex with an officer and only the officer gets in trouble. Dont get me wrong--yes it is wrong. but where is the justice. You complain about Anthony Correctional Center and it was like a friggen summer camp. You wouldnt believe with the BS that the officers put up with,the long hours threats from inmates and lack of authority. Try to do thier job for a month hell for a week and see who the ones are that is the criminal. I can almost garentee you that in a prison its the inmates word over an officers and lets make them comfortable and not give a shit about the officers!!! Good Job to anyone who works there and puts up with the BS from other coworkers and inmates!!!

A huntington cop raped my cousin, or pressured her to have sex to pay for a ticket. That is a felony. This guy did a paper crime for $1,500, and got 7 years?

For 1,500? that sounds like overkill. Why not have him on supervised probation, make him pay it back? Then drop it when he does? That would solve the problem, there would be a paper trail. WV pays a hundred times the worth of the crime for imprisonment, what exactly does that end up proving, or helping?

Wouldn't it be better to ask for restitution and make him work for it, rather than make the entire state pay 100 times that and not guarantee anything?After conviction, his chance of paying it off thru work are next to nothing. Wouldn't it be better if our taxes didn't pay for his jail time, and he just worked it off, instead?

If he can type here, he's already more qualified for work than most Huntington High graduate. What purpose does it serve to feel morally superior to him and lose 100 TIMES what he did to do it?

I'd rather be humble, not pay extra taxes, have him working for a company, too.

Despite mr voyeur's post, no one has the right to rape anyone else. If a c.o. or cop is doing that, he is no different from any other rapist, except he was given trust and power by society and abused it. That makes him more guilty, not less, and the supreme court has also aid that same thing, back in 1994.

BTW, most rapists believe the recipient/victim "deserves it" making "You Are A Criminal" no different from the people behind bars.

Then stop putting them in prison, and make a deal to drop the charges after paying restitution and suffering monitored probation.

You can't be very good at math either, since you think paying 100 times his offense makes better sense. Less imprisonment means less taxes, and restitution. Prison means a total loss, a big one a that too. If he developments a medical problem, which is likely, you'll pay for that too.

Know why the crime rate has gone done, with unsolved murders? Cops don't work for a living. So the rate goes down, they now control county government. They don't arrest themselves. I was the victim of a rape too, at the hands of law enforcement, though I was not an inmate when it happened. I had not been pulled over for anything, nor am I a "badge bunny"! I don't understand why these officers are not being investigated, even when they have been reported to proper authorities!
