Wasted? Depends on how you look at it.
From the standpoint of the Republican-
friendly contractors who got to take part
in the corporate feeding frenzy that was
Bush's Iraq war, it was a great success.
Don't knock cronyism, corruption and kickbacks
until you've tried them.

What ever did happen to the 190,000 AK-47s
and pistols that went "missing" in Iraq?

Have you posted on topic in 2013, Dumbo?
If Topix would remove the posts that were off topic, it would start with yours and then there would be no responses to your off topic posts.
That would reduce comments by a couple hundred thousand.
I guess Topix doesn't care, they are looking for clicks.
Sure pookie, prove it wrong.......

<quoted text>There were WMD's, and using 5 year old lies will get you the street creds your are struggling for.
We have gone over this one before.
Thus it is you who is losing 'cred' on my street.

The one man with the most to gain y being able to say see we found 'em would have been W.
After invasion W. assembled his team ISG to hunt for WMD in Iraq.

During its investigation, the ISG reported that "[a] total of 53 munitions have been recovered, all of which appear to have been part of pre-1991 Gulf war stocks based on their physical condition and residual components." These isolated discoveries received significant media attention, and it’s likely that these overhyped reports contributed to your friends’ beliefs that Iraq really did possess WMDs. But the finds were rare, and the ISG concluded that they were not part of a significant stockpile of weapons. Indeed, after nearly two years of investigation, the ISG concluded that:

"Saddam Husayn ended the nuclear program in 1991 following the Gulf war. ISG found no evidence to suggest concerted efforts to restart the program."
"While a small number of old, abandoned chemical munitions have been discovered, ISG judges that Iraq unilaterally destroyed its undeclared chemical weapons stockpile in 1991. There are no credible indications that Baghdad resumed production of chemical munitions thereafter."
"In practical terms, with the destruction of the Al Hakam facility, Iraq abandoned its ambition to obtain advanced BW [biological warfare] weapons quickly. ISG found no direct evidence that Iraq, after 1996, had plans for a new BW program or was conducting BW-specific work for military purposes."
Experts from the three nations failed to document any existent biological or nuclear weapons and discovered only a few random chemical weapons. The ISG concluded that contrary to what most of the world had believed, Iraq had abandoned attempts to produce WMDs. In his congressional testimony, the head of the ISG, Charles Duelfer, admitted, "We were almost all wrong" on Iraq.

I charge that W. willfully ignored evidence that didn't back up his original thought.
That showed a big flaw in W.'s judgement.
How ever when W. signed off on the ISG in admitting that he was incorrect he showed more integrity than most.
Thus I will believe President Bush until he retracts.

Since our troops are being used in a mercenary capacity as part of the Oil Wars, the high price of gasoline at home is further proof of failure in the middle east. Maybe it's time to invade North Dakota, or get stuck in Canada's sticky tar sands.

The members of the nearly defunct Tea Party have been strangely silent on our armed overseas obligations. Where are these described in the US Constitution? Which part of our border touches Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan and the African nations where we now have our proud armed forces?

ps: World War II is over. Why are we still stationed in places like Italy and Japan? Are they planning on invading us?

pps: why is everyone serving overseas since Desert Storm now hailed as a "hero" by the media?

And the republican stole this much with all eyes on them, image how much they looted when we weren't watching....... ROFLMAO

This is why Republican donors are willing to fork over $100 Billion to ensure Conservatives win the White House..... they more than make up their donations on the back end...... ROFLMAO

On your ps.....You are damn correct there is zero logic in spending billions to defend Europe and Japan from Soviet aggression.

pps....Because they signed up to serve you and your country .They risked their live for you ..damn it. You may hate the war, I do, but the grunts on the ground did not create the war. If risking your life for your country isn't heroic there is little that is.
Hate W.
hate Rumsfield .
Hate the war in Iraq..
...God bless the grunt

I would not say the money was wasted. I am pretty sure some of it found its way into a Ferrari dealership or some fine dining establishment. Just look at as TARP3, but instead of wall street and union bosses getting the money, its guys who have to spit when they say their names.

Unlike Republicans who get cash from the defense industry. Democrats like Obama and Gore go green for their bribers, err contributions- Tesla and Solyandra.

Every single penny spent on all the middle east wars was wasted. Like viet nam it will be a loss of lives & money for nothing. Many of our fine young men & womed who fight in the wars really believe they are protecting US freedom and Making it safer in the USA. the sad fact is they are nothing but cannon fodder for the UN -NWO & agends 21 plans. They are part of the UN army. They get their orders from the UN.

Daily Horoscope for May 23

Taurus

You have a very high opinion of someone today. In fact, you're really impressed with them and you'll probably sing their praises to anyone who'll listen. If you meet someone for the first time now, you'll be very impressed and this will never change throughout your relationship. But try not to idealize them into something they're not.
