Personally I don't think the inmates should be charged I mean serously what did they bribe with?? Ramen noodles?? the correctional officer had a say n the matter and was the one who smuggled th tobacco in so therefor the officer should be the one doing time if anything all the inmates should get is the mandatory yr for possesing contraband.

Im sure by now whatever was going to come about came and went. But there have been more problems since they took it out than had they just left it in there not just because of bribing or attempting to bribe.(Compromising) more violence has come about and you would think it was drugs involved instead of tobacco. For those of you with family in there your loved one is probably getting hurt over tobacco. 5 dollar bag of loose tobacco is worth a whole lot more in there. Definately worth enough to the prison worker to take risks to get it in there. You could probably get close to 10 dollars for one roll your own cigarette. Is that really what you want state employees doing? As long as tobacco is illegal in the prisons they're going to continue that. And be a part of the problem not the solution. At least if inmates were permitted to smoke, or however they use tobacco, those employees couldn't make so much money off of it like they do. Isn't it sorta illegal to be involved in black market anyway? Punishing an inmate for smoking is like punishing a dog because he got a porkchop what do you expect when hes given that oppurtunity?
