King(s) of Tonga are very smart/ruthless, they use the nobels to do the dirty work. 1st step to become a democratic government, amend the constitution, let the commoners have more say and more freedom in the government.

Wow it's the same old bull sh.... Real democrat will not allow that. Doesn't anyone have the guts to stand up to the nobles and get rid of stupid laws like this? It is corruption at its best.

This ain't fair.. There is no reason they should lax such penalties. The point of these laws is to protect the people against law breakers being in leadership positions. So in a time where tonga is even more need to get good leaders, this isn't going to help.
