MAybe the numbers not released because it going into someone pocket. I always though that air lifts into remote places unloading food and other goods to people would be best for aid. Nobody cares for my thoughts.

The Philippines is EXTREMELY RACIST. That's your dirty little secret. From avoiding like the plague getting dark from the sun to shrugging your shoulders of a murdered foreigner "he is just a foreigner probably asking for it" to your treatment of dark skinned people. Jacked up prices for foreigners, think the world owes you a living.
You don't even view foreigners as human but as ATM machines.
I will not deny that you will encounter those experiences in the Philippines, But saying the entire country is like that is RACIST. have you been all around the Philippines to say that Philippines is extremely racist? Probably giving special treatment to Whites are not enough. If Filipinos don't want to get dark is that hurting anybody? is that affecting anybody? nobody forced them to be that way. that is their personal preference(just being VAIN). please also note that dark skinned people you said but not from other countries so no racism involved because they are the same race only different skin. I had done my fair share of travelling and i would say jacked up prices is not just for foreigners in the Philippines, it is the same in any other country if your a tourist it is going to be more expensive than the price for locals.
If it is so bad there why still be in that country? I think you have bad acquaintances in the country. Find new ones probably you wouldn't be this critical of the Philippines.
The world owes us a living? we are working our a$$ off, well most of the people i know do, But i know you can find lazy a$$ people as well same in the US you can see Bums.

I think the U.S. should pay the fine then deduct that same amount from their economic AID.
They could do that, no one is stopping them. But a fine is a fine a penalty is a penalty. if they want to be immature about their mistakes, then its up to your government.

Don makes me laugh too much - on one hand he says that filipinos cant ,wont and dont take responsiblity for their actions -then when the US errs he thinks they should not have to pay for the damage that did -damage that only they are responible for -two faced idiot.
Hey i gave money to a begger yesterday - so that means my next speeding violation is free right ?????

I just said they should pay for the damages then deduct it off the next free money giveaway. Anything wrong with that?

“We are happy to note that the USS Guardian has been fully extricated from the Tubbataha Reef,” Coloma said.

The US Embassy in Manila earlier issued a statement saying “the US is prepared to pay compensation for the damage the Jan. 17 incident caused.

“We are grateful to the Philippine government, including the Coast Guard, Department of Transportation and Communications, Philippine Navy, and TMO for their leadership and assistance throughout the salvage operation,” the embassy said.

“We will continue to work with our Philippine partners to help advance coral reef restoration and preservation in the Philippines.”

If it wasn't for the good ole' U.S. of A. them Philipinis would be speaking German right now! The U.S. taught 'em American instead!
Clearly you don't know anything about reef restoration and trespassing in protected/restricted area. It is not a hand out, corals can't be replaced easily. Going into a restricted area with a warning, just getting a fine not a criminal charge against the US citizen who broke the law, not even a diplomatic protest given that the US is not respecting Philippine sovereignty. so tell me now, US knows they made a mistake, and they know they have to pay for it, the price they are willing to pay is monetary based, not their citizens getting criminal charges.

Philippines accepted 11.9 million US for military aid in 2011 and 30 million US in 2012 according to TIME Magazine.
I was unable to find the amount that Philippines receives from the US but I did find that the US gave 25 BILLION US Dollars in foreign aid in 2009. I would imagine the number in 2012 is similar. It sometimes takes a couple years for these numbers to be released and 2009 was the most recent I could find.
Yet, people still want to complain about the US.
the USA gives more than 160 million a year aid to the Philippines

Donald when a child leaves the nest it has some hard lessons to learn -however if the child never leaves the lessons can not be learned -the US will not leave as it needs to be here for its own protection -you would love to have people think the US is here just to look after the poor little feeble philippines but that is not the case -and you know it .

The Philippines is very strategically located for the US. They aren't doing it out of kindness.

The German empire fell in 1918(after world war 1), with that the Philippine could have gotten an earlier independence or still be subject to another imperial power. How did you come up with such a statement that we would be speaking German?
