I to have an husband who is at Wartburg. He did wrong, nothing to the degree of killing, but still wrong and he is doing his time. Prison has helped my husband and hurt him at the same time. How can a person be shown what to do right, when they are being treated wrong. Nobody has yet to mention the commandment of God,"love one another". They are humans, guards and inmates. Guards should protect themsleves using "GOOD" judgement. Every inmate does not want to go back to the same lifestyle of what they were living before. The world is full with good and bad people and that will never change. If a person does not want to go to prison, then they must try their best to stay on the right road. Many people do go to prison for no reason, and crimes that they did not commit. All I can say to that is God has you, and he will never let his people fall. Keep praying and your victory will come one day. Trust and belive that. This is sad that everybody is at each other throat on this thread. How about instead of fighting one another, that we try to come up with a solution. This could be done by starting a group that writes to people outside of the prison who really cares and can give them encouraging words. That is what I do. My husband does the same thing from the inside and he is blessed within those walls. He is coming home soon and he will not have to deal with the mess that some guards do. I have a friend that is a guard and he got attack, but he did not let his anger get the best of him. If he reacted, then he knew he is no better than the inmates. The only thing that will change the prison system is pray and people coming together working for a common goal. We are not to judge anyone, because we are not sinless. No matter what the sin is that was committed. God forgives all, and alot of those inmates are trying to find peace with God. I have had family member that have been killed. Did I want that inmate dead; of course. But what good will that due. It would not have brought him back. So I had to get peace by forgiving him and praying that the man sees what he did was wrong and ask for forgiveness himself. I am not pointing any fingers, but all I know is this is not helping anything by bashing each other. There can be a solution to all of this. Nobody deserves to die, I don't care who you are. And I do agree with the person who said that our children needs fear put into them. I make sure my child sees where her father has been for the past two years everyday. I even make her watch this show where kids who act up goes to a real prison to show them where they will be if they chose to break the law. TN needs to implement a plan like that now, before I youth reaches a point where they cant be save. I just hope that this touches someones heart to show love and compassion and not hate and death.(I was typing this fast so there might be ALOT of misspellings, I know how some of you think that one mispelled word means that you have no education. I do have a college degree within the medical fields, so I am not dumb by no means. JUST SAYING)

I have 2 close family members that work at the prison. The comments that come from people that have a family member in the prison, usually make me so angry I could scream. In regard to your post: Well said. I will be saying a prayer for you & your loved one.

For those few that have posted here until you have a loved one in the prison system you will never truly know what prison life is like, for you to sit and judge these inmates is inhumane, do you not understand that they have already been tried, convicted, and are now serving their time that the judicial system deemed appropriate. So who are you to judge them? Who are you to say what you think is fair? The only difference between you and the inmates is that they got caught and you haven't yet. And let me say that prison life for the guards is not like what you see on television. They are in no more danger from being stuck by an inmate, than you are. And let me state this fact, there are some dirty c/o's in the TDOC. But you probably wouldn't know that because you, your family and friends are perfect and have never broken ANY law.
Sound just like a prison wife. Just cause you love a criminal doesn't mean you know shit. You are probably mad cause he is in prison. Imagine that. I work there and I tell you 80's% of the inmates is piece of shit. We catch bad officers just like we catch you love one breaking rules. Like I said luv is blind and ignorance is abundant.

Not all are thugs, just sayin. I could tell ya a story that would rip ur heart out and make ya never say a cruel thing about anyone again without knowing the true story. I wish we as a society would stop lookin in from the outside and stop.judging all people by the means of where they are at in life and yes there are some really nice guards and staff there.

my husband is there. He isn't a murderer, rapist, or any other violent crime...or drug crime. He is there over a "white collar crime" yes he broke the law and he is paying for it. But no man or woman deserves to die unless they are given the death penalty...and I myself don't believe in capital punishment.

<quoted text>Oh God No! Not a violation of these inmates Geneva Convention rights. This is more than I can take. To think that Inmate #1, who put a baby in a microwave & turned in on or maybe Inmate #2, who killed his mother, then drove around with her body in the car or Inmate #3, that raped a woman with a foreign object so violently that she bled to death from internal injuries, should have their rights violated! I cant believe it! And this roaming band of thugs posing as guards, having to watch from every angle for one of these sweet hearts to come out from a blind corner & knife them, well they are certainly getting what they deserve because anyone that would violate one of these upstanding inmates rights is just asking for trouble. I want YOU to come to MCRCF and lead a protest against this injustice right through the middle of the yard, make your way into the Max Unit & DEMAND that these men be let out. Hell, you can even take them into your own home if you want too. If your able and/or live long enough, maybe you could help them file complaints. And P.S.- You'd have to spell Geneva Convention for most of these scum your upholding. I think you should be more informed before YOU start spouting off because right now I'm sure you have the IQ of a slug.
AMEN! The people who also runs their mouth do not know about some of these innocent people who throw watered down feecee and other body fluids on the officers who cannot do anything about it.I think if a lot of them were dragged out of their cell and whooped, they might learn to behave.

actually...I believe they deserve to rot in prison for the rest of their natural lives. It is more expensive to put someone on death row anyway. Besides....people like that usually end up murdered by other inmates

Not sayin your husband is bad nor the officers there. My son was there and everyone told me I should go to the highest level to show that all inmates are not guilty that are there and I seen that first hand however the guards I met and knew were very kind and helpful also. Just wish society would not judge either side without knowing the God honest truth. I just pray each nite for the safety of innocent inmates and the guards who do their job.

my husband said there are female guards there! I couldn't believe it! He said he could never imagine letting me work somewhere like that. I would be so afraid. I mean there are so many of them. And some are murders, rapist...etc. I don't wish anything bad on anyone there. My husband is guilty of what he did and he admits it. I just wish he would have came to me about our finances instead of doing what he did.:-(

no my manager did 5 years and saw guys get killed regularly. One had a rolled up newspaper shoved so far up his rectum, it killed him. The other tried to rape another inmate and was stabbed so viciously that the yellow fat deposits were coming out of the stabs to his abdomen.

Yes. You've been watching too much television. I think you were asked to show proof where these inmates "usually" end up "murdered". One inmate here and there doesn't qualify as "usually".

Here is a nice website showing you that your manager is full of it.

http://inquest.gn.apc.org/website/statistics/...

Feel free to look at the actual death rates in prison via homicide. These are nation wide statistics.

I typically rely on factual information versus that of a convicted felon. Maybe you should as well. You sound like you are easily persuaded by inmates, so no, you shouldn't ever work in a prison

Oh now you've switched to "beat up" AND killed. Interesting. I suggest you review the link above and review how many actually get killed in prisons nation wide, including state prisons. It isn't as many as you think.

You assert that many get killed in prison. That assertion is very inaccurate. No matter what your "manager" says.

my manager was in brushy...my husband is in MCCX. Well I hope it's true...that inmates don't get hurt. I mean...obviously I don't want him getting hurt. We have a 1 and 6 year old that miss him
