we the people have said it over and over again.

quote, "we do not want or need comprehensive immigration reform.. we only need law enforcement."

any politician saying otherwise needs to be voted out of office.

they were elected to represent americans and America. and by pushing to support citizens of other countries who are illegally in the usa, they are plainly showing that they are not.

kick the bums out! NOW!

I rather doubt that they will come to an agreement that quickly, but if they do, they have definitely not thought this out very well. Americans are being sold out.

The senate can reach all the agreements it wants. Immigration reform, i.e., some form of amnesty or permission to stay in the US for the lowlife illegal aliens, will never be passed by the house.

Every individual has rights as an individual, not as a member of this or that nation. One has rights not by virtue of being an American, but by virtue of being human.

Hey, Original American, you have watched "Dances with Wolves" too many times. Before you go bragging about how the Indians were so noble, consider that the Indians were in what is now the United States for more than 100,000 years before the Europeans came. During that time, they had not developed a written language, the wheel, numbers, cloth weaving, candles or any form of transportation except walking.(They got horses from the Spanish.) They used stone knives and spears, just as frequently on each other as for hunting, as they were an extremely violent people. The average lifespan was less than 30 years, women were treated as property, they froze when it was cold and burned when it was hot. They left sick children and infants outside to die of exposure. When Columbus landed, the Indians were still in the Stone Age, a minimum 2,000 years behind the rest of the world in technology and culture. I know you guys got a bad break, but there are 330 million people in the US today, millions of families, major cities...was Columbus supposed to turn his ships around and let the Indians continue on their unending camping trip? You got in the way of the future. Run over by progress. Get over it. Besides, Rule Number One in history is if you own it and someone can take it away from you, you didn't own it. PS Mexicans are NOT native Americans. They are nor a race.

There is always going to be bigots that either don't like the browns, the blacks, the little yellow people and the homosexuals,

let me ask you this, genius...do you think anyone who is not white can be born in the usa?

and if I did say I was born in the usa, what difference does it make to the debate?

I'm no anchor baby. both my parents are LEGAL citizens of the usa. can you say the same?

sounds like it is all about color to you. that means you are racist.

The debate is being framed by people who are citizens now, but entered the country illegally and were later naturalized. There have been 6 or 7 amnesties since Regean's 1986 IRCA, and people who broke the law and skirted the rules see no reason why their brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, nieces, 2nd cousins, and old neighbors shouldn't be allowed in the US. Our immigration laws prohibit the admission of uneducated persons who will become public charges, so, according to Dems, these people are "forced" to enter illegally to be reunited with their families. We have approx 20 million illegals in the US, 60% from Mexico and 20% from Central & South America. Of the more than 1million people who legally immigrate to the US each year, approx 75% are from Mexico.

47% of immigrants who have been in the US for 20+ years are on welfare. 63% of illegal immigrants are on welfare. And to all you that say "illegals can't get welfare"..... Please grow up.

To everyone that says "illegals do jobs amercans won't".... There are approx 1.2 agricultural jobs in the the US. An estimated 50% of the work force is illegal. An additional 7 million illegals are working in construction, building maintenance, hospitality, manufacturing, etc....blue collar jobs that USED to support the middle class, but don't anymore because of the reduced wages, caused by a glut of labor willing to work for less than a living wage.

We have almost 25 million Citizens who are out of work. It is time for Congress and the President to start representing THEM, and stop Hispandering. It is highly offensive to blue collar, hardworking Americans that citizenship is even being discussed.
