terrible story. What a brave guy - it's through people like Amadou that changes are made. We are so lucky to live in a country with no dictator even though we have the worst government right now. Human rights in this country (like many other countries) are trodden on. Join Amnesty International and make a difference. Every small difference makes for changes.

i am so glad that amadou was able to be released and left the gambia for a life of freedom, these executions were horrendous at the time and many of us on this forum spoke outwardly against them and the president as we do today ,we have that freedom of speech gambians unfortunatley never will, while jammeh prosides over the country ,im just glad that amnesty international along with several european countries including britain and the usa and african countires stood against jammeh which in the end stopped further executions ,amnesty do an amazing job not only with stories like these exectuions but about children and women being abducted into slavery and prostition ,and they need all the help and money they can get .

traumatic reading indeed, thankfully things seem to have calmed down now but he always has the option to use the "execution" card if he feels he needs to control the country.
