The face of earth could be covered with loaded assualt rifles and if none were touched by man none would discharge. Outside of animals walking on them could cause one to fire.

Not even if animals walked on them, if man had never loaded them.

Unless the Government puts gun control on the ballot it will never be instituted. You need a Constitutional amendment to let the Government control the guns. That will never pass for decades. You have to start with the children like they did cigarettes. Then ask for the amendment, but it will take years, and years.

Perhaps the people are fearful of the Mental Health Industry that has No science, No medical model. No evidence based medicine and lied about chemical imbalance of the brain and has created many made to order diagnoses to mind drug and compromise their children or love ones. How about the recent 20 children and four adults killed because of some individual on mind drugs and under their care. Here's a more complete list. Maybe they are trying to protect their love ones

.. APA Admits there is no test for "chemical imbalance"

In an explosive admission, American psychiatric Association President Steven Sharfstein did a 180-degree turnaround from his TODAY show interview (June 27) and admitted that there is no way to test for a “chemical imbalance” as the cause for mental disorders. PEOPLE magazine (July 11), quoted Dr. Sharfstein conceding,“We do not have a clean-cut lab test.”

Dr. Sharfstein is not alone. Elliot Valenstein, Ph.D. says,“[T]here are no tests available for assessing the chemical status of a living person’s brain.” The late Dr. Loren Mosher stated,“…there are no external validating criteria for psychiatric diagnoses.”

In 2004, psychiatrist M. Douglas Mar debunked the theory that brain scans can help diagnose mental diseases stating,“There is no scientific basis for these claims [of using brain scans for psychiatric diagnosis].”

Harvard University professor, Joseph Glenmullen, author of “Prozac Backlash,” said the questionnaires of symptoms used to “diagnose” depression “may look scientific,” but “are utterly subjective measures.”

“But unfortunately, the tragedy in this misinformation campaign has been the children who have been pegged with these invented illnesses and given life-destroying drugs,” said Marla Filidei, VP of CCHR International.“We’ve seen hundreds of cases where children’s lives have been destroyed as a result of these labels.”

Ten-year-old Shaina Dunkle collapsed and died from toxic levels of the psychiatric drug she was prescribed.“Shaina looked into my eyes as her life ended and I could do nothing to save her. It’s been two years and I relive those last few minutes every day. Believe me, it is a nightmare no parent should ever have to live with, said Mrs. Vicki Dunkle.

At age 7, Matthew Smith was diagnosed with ADHD. His parents were told he needed to take a stimulant to help him focus and that non-compliance could bring criminal charges for neglecting their son’s educational and emotional needs. The parents acceded to the pressure and put Matthew on a psychiatric drug and on March 21, 2000, while skateboarding, Matthew suffered a heart attack and died from the effects of the drug.

By their own admission, psychiatrists cannot cure. Norman Sartorius, President of the World Psychiatric Association from 1996-1999 concluded that “the time when psychiatrists considered that they could cure the mentally ill is gone"

60 School Shootings Linked To Psychiatric Drugs Over Past 20 Years

While in the wake to the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre most of the debate has centered around gun control, perhaps more of the debate should be focused on the mood altering drugs that people are being given as more than 60 school shootings among and more than 4,800 violent attacks have been linked to psychiatric drugs.

The website SSRI Stories ( ) tracks violence related to psychiatric drugs. The site has links to more than 60 school shooting incidents as well as other violent acts over the past 20 years.

This website is a collection of 4,800+ news stories with the full media article available, mainly criminal in nature, that have appeared in the media (newspapers, TV, scientific journals) or that were part of FDA testimony in either 1991, 2004 or 2006, in which antidepressants are mentioned.

This web site focuses on the Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors (SSRIs), of which Prozac (fluoxetine) was the first. Other SSRIs are Zoloft (sertraline), Paxil (paroxetine)(known in the UK as Seroxat), Celexa (citalopam), Lexapro (escitalopram), and Luvox (fluvoxamine). Other newer antidepressants included in this list are Remeron (mirtazapine), Anafranil (clomipramine) and the SNRIs Effexor (venlafaxine), Cymbalta (duloxetine) and Pristiq (desvenlafaxine) as well as the dopamine reuptake inhibitor antidepressant Wellbutrin (bupropion)(also marketed as Zyban).

U.S. military: Heavily armed and medicated

Marine Corporal Michael Cataldi woke as he heard the truck rumble past.

He opened his eyes, but saw nothing. It was the middle of the night, and he was facedown in the sands of western Iraq. His loaded M16 was pinned beneath him.

Cataldi had no idea how he'd gotten to where he now lay, some 200 meters from the dilapidated building where his buddies slept. But he suspected what had caused this nightmare: His Klonopin prescription had run out.

His ordeal was not all that remarkable for a person on that anti-anxiety medication. In the lengthy labeling that accompanies each prescription, Klonopin users are warned against abruptly stopping the medicine, since doing so can cause psychosis, hallucinations, and other symptoms. What makes Cataldi's story extraordinary is that he was a U. S. Marine at war, and that the drug's adverse effects endangered lives — his own, his fellow Marines', and the lives of any civilians unfortunate enough to cross his path.

"It put everyone within rifle distance at risk," he says.

In deploying an all-volunteer army to fight two ongoing wars, in Iraq and Afghanistan, the Pentagon has increasingly relied on prescription drugs to keep its warriors on the front lines. In recent years, the number of military prescriptions for antidepressants, sleeping pills, and painkillers has risen as soldiers come home with battered bodies and troubled minds. And many of those service members are then sent back to war theaters in distant lands with bottles of medication to fortify them.

According to data from a U. S. Army mental-health survey released last year, about 12 percent of soldiers in Iraq and 15 percent of those in Afghanistan reported taking antidepressants, anti-anxiety medications, or sleeping pills. Prescriptions for painkillers have also skyrocketed. Data from the Department of Defense last fall showed that as of September 2007, prescriptions for narcotics for active-duty troops had risen to almost 50,000 a month, compared with about 33,000 a month in October 2003, not long after the Iraq war began.
