Should av hanged him when he done it . End of. Look at the young James bulger killers now , ones a nonce the other ones gonna cost the taxpayer for the rest of his life. 13 is old enough to know right from wrong.

Oh my goodness...what is wrong with all you ladies?
I'm sure that if he was ugly none of you would want to write to him/be 'inspired' by him.
Thank goodness Jade posted her comments- it shows there are still some sane women out there.

He was a child and should have been protected and supported not a locked in a room for yeats on end.
Which ever way you look at it its wrong. i also think there should be a campaign to set him free initially into a supportive supervised enviroment.

How can we find the details to right to him?
I agree with everybody here. Its terrible he should be in prison for this crime still. He could be released and gradually let back into society with help - as they do in the U.K. I was very saddened to see him inside that prison.
I am going to write to him. I feel I'd like to try and get him out but dont know how !!

Thank you, i am only 18 years old and people dismiss my generation very easily but i feel very strongly about issues like this and i believe that ignorance is truly one of the most dangerous things around these days.

I have been writing to Ronald for some years now and he has never had many letters, now Iím sure he is going to be flooded with them. Itís sad that it took a programme about death row to get people to care even though people have always been aware of death row and itís very easy to get information on the people on death row. All I ask is that you respect the small amount of privacy he has left when you write your letters.

Thanks for letting us know you've been writing to him.. Obviously you will know more about him than any of us will. And more than we have learned from the tv documentary or read on forums etc... Maybe you could enlighten us why he's still in 23 hourly lock up section, or if his fily keep in touch. I'm all for respecting his privacy, but I thought he would be pleased to see he has so much support?

Unortunately within the prison he is seen just the same as those awaiting death (this is why he was on the programm) even though he has not been sentenced to death, and the nature of his crime have kept him in lock up, also he is not always well behaved, its hard when your stuck in the same room all day everyday i guess, yes members of his family do keep in touch. yes he would be really pleased to see he has support, i meant in terms of what he did, It wouldnít be nice for him to receive 50 letters asking why he did what he did or what happened.....things like that :)

I completely understand what you are saying. And I agree. I too have written to Ronald, but haven't asked him anything like that. I want sure of the process and can't find all the answers to
all questions, but I anticipate due to the situation he will not be able to write back to everyone or afford to for that matter. I have enclosed pre paid envelopes, will he be able to have these?

I'd like to say I agree with most points that people who are saying he deserves to be there,I understand their points of view, where they are coming from.
But i felt saddened to think at 13 yrs he committed such a horrid crime, and because
of that his life is over, never to experience anything other than death row, he seemed so educated(obviously by reading/studying in prison) also so well mannered, not like most of the other death row guys, who to me really really deserved to pay with their life!
I started to think what was his family upbringing like?where were his parents now? What happened to the other boy? I wished Trevor had gone down that root and reasearched it.
It almost makes me feel like writing to Ronald to find out more of an insight into him, as I think he deserves a second chance, even if it was someone I loved I'd like to think I' d have some compassion , depending on circumstances of course but I think this is someone who deseves compassion, it's not like he tortured or sexually assaulted , to me it was not horrific, terrible but not horrific, so I don't think he is scum, he was just a 13 yr old who made a big big mistake, does anyone know how you can write to Trevor Macdonald to see if he knows more about Ronald

My God, you people are nothing but cranks and hypocrites! How on Earth can you idiots state that this man deserves to be set free? 13 is not too young to understand right from wrong. I was roughly 13 when James Bulger was killed and I certainly felt that the crime was wrong. Very wrong. I have seen details of this case myself and it seems that Sanford was not only a willing accomplice but a vicious kiler to boot. The other guy was a teenager too by the way. Sanford stabbed the women to death. That's a very cold harted and personal way of killing someone.

I can absolutely guarantee that not one of the people on here who are expressing sympathy for Sanford feel the same way about the Bulger killers. I bet that, given the chance, you all would have likede to have seen the Bulger killers hanged for their crimes, even if it meant the boys were hung as ten-year-olds.

I firmly believe that the Bulger killers should STILL be in prison for what they did and I absolutely believe that Sanford should reflect on his crime for the rest of his life behind bars. Sanford has charmed you because that's what the coldest psychopaths are good at doing. They wear human shaped masks.

Has it never occured to you that Sanford received the harsher sentance because he was the one who committed the horrible murder?
