Curious why his name can't be given. His arrest, trial and conviction is a matter of public record as is his incarceration at what facility. Now him being charged with capital murder is also public record. What's up?

Well, I'm not an editor, so...

A preliminary hearing is under way for three Kansas prison inmates who are charged with capital murder in the Oct. 27, 2007, death of a fellow inmate.

Jason Strand, Kendrick Shears and Charvell Robinson, all 23, face the death penalty, and are represented by the Kansas Death Penalty Defense Unit. They are accused of killing 28-year-old David Warren Jr., whose body was found in a shower at the Hutchinson Correctional Facility.

Cpl. Michael Collier testified Tuesday that another inmate told him that there was a body in the shower. Collier found Warren bleeding from his left eye and making noises that sounded "almost like he was snoring."

An autopsy showed a long, thin metal object had entered Warren's brain through his eye and killed him.

The hearing is expected to last all week.

I can accept a sharp object in the eye to a child raper. I'd feel better if it were one on one. What's the one from Coffyeville in the joint for?

Topwhop last minute Update News.

They are accused of killing 28-year-old ( David Warren Jr.,) whose body was found in a shower at the Hutchinson Correctional Facility.

"The truth is that people (all people) make mistakes. Some of these mistakes are violent and for some they will never realize the error of their ways....After all, we must not forget about the innocently incarcerated and the Charles S. Dottuns, and Nelson Mandella's who were imprisoned and then released and went on to do great things for our society. Simply....DON'T BE SO QUICK TO JUDGE BECAUSE YOU TO SHALL BE JUDGED!(being serious here)"

Come on, stabbing somebody in their brain through their eye is not just a mistake it's an evil act. These guys are no Nelson Mandelas ("who will be released to go on to do great things") either, according to the Kansas Dept. of Correction's Offender website:

Jason Strand - Convicted of Aggravated Assault, multiple prison violations

Kendrick Shears - Convicted of Aggravated Assault, Aggravated Burgurlary, Battery Against a Law Enforcement Officer, Battery Against a Juvinile Detention Officer, multiple Battery counts while in prison

Charvell Robinson - Convicted of Aggravated Robbery, Lewd Acts, etc., Also multiple prison violations.

People are sick of this sh*t. Convicts get slaps on the wrist, go back into general population, then eventually get paroled (Kendrick Shears was about to go in front of a parole board when he did this). Same old story time and time again.

I think this case is a good argument for the Death Penalty advocates. Life in prison won't do them or the inmates any good. It will just give them any good. Sometimes maybe people just forfeit their right to live.

Now thats the rest of the story.
Have a good wonderful Day !!!

The TRUTH is they killed a CHILD RAPIST!

They deserve a medal for that. Just like the killer of Jeffery Dahlmer. They did not take an innocent life.

How old was the child this man raped? How long will that child have to live with the memory of what was TAKEN from him/her.

I admit I do not know anything about his man's case. Other than he was a child rapist.CONVICTED.
Should have got the death penalty not two years.

Just be glad he got into general population. At least justice was served. These guys did us a service. They should get out for good behaviour.

Just to let everyone know, people can be judged. My husband works for HCF and I hear the horrible storied that happens in those walls and its not even something you could even dream up. Those guys are nasty, perverted, and screwed up in the head. Im glad that some sort of justice gets served in there. If it doesnt come from the justice system then im glad it comes from the other inmates. I have 3 young children and anyone who does something like what that man did to a child deserves to die and go to heck. dont try to defend these men. They deserve what they get and that is that. Maybe if they were a good person to begin with then they would have had a different life. A good one.

What remedial action has been taken to prevent this in the future ? Would it not be an advantage to have a camera or would that be a personal rights violation ? How did they get a blade or sharp object ? Someone (staff) was not paying attention in the dining room and/or metal shop I would say. Also guards should report verbals (inmates ,too, and potential victims could shower alone could they not ?

My understanding is these fine three men kept a child molester from being released anytime soon. Yes! they should be well rewarded and given the prison gate key to toward their freedom and a pat on the back for a job well done.

Some of the inmates are trying there hardest to be a better person. You need to stop jugeing the inmates because you never now whey you are going to be one.Its not only some of the inmates are nasty it the guards to.I real think that you should think about things in a inmates shoe for once. How do you know that your husband is telling the truth about the stories because you know well as i do some people like to make things up.Im just saying from as inmates wife i dont think you should be saying stuff about inmates when you dont know what those people went though in life. The Guards are vey disrectful to the inmates and the people that come and see the inmates.I also think you should stop judgeing the inmates just becuase you are a Dams Gurads wife and your not in a inmate.

Well I'm sorry but all inmates are not bad, tired of guards judging, been to 3 different prisons in KS to visit inmates and I've witnessed the hostile environment caused by guards who have no respect for inmates. What gives guards the right to disrespect inmates but yet "guards" are portrayed as a good person! In my eyes they just as low as a chumo
