Sen. Ernest Newton, D-Bridgeport, who was sentenced in February 2006 to five years in federal prison and three years probation. Newton was convicted of taking a $5,000 bribe, diverting $40,682 in campaign contributions to himself and others and failing to report the money on his income tax return."

OK guys, YOU just try and not report earning on YOUR income tax return and see where it gets ya.

This public financing is a joke, just like when Jim miron got the funds for his senate run against Kelly. 1st Harkins just trouched him in the mayoral election and he grabs a big cash out for himself and his friends before he leaves officer but he stiffs the local printer. Now he needs a paycheck so he tries for state senate and get funding and pays his friends for consulting and gets beat even worst in that election. But the public is on the hook every time, it's insane.

Unfortunately the minorities will vote for any black because the mentality is that they will benefit more electing one of their own. In Newtons case he was more interested in furthering his political career than helping his constituents.
Similarly the blacks unanimously voted for Obama thinking the same thing. Only problem is Obama is also more interested in getting re- elected than helping America. No job creation, food stamps up, unemployment up...Oh wait, isn't that hurting the minority community? At least the ones that may want get a job and get off the entitlement programs.
Maybe it's wishful thinking on my part but I'm tired of paying for the deadbeats.
