6 prison employees fired over Hays State Prison escapes

Six employees of Forest Hays Jr. State Prison near Trion, Ga., have been fired in connection with the escape of two inmates in October.

those people should have been doing their job or they might still be there. what i wonder is how one of them carried in a cell phone (danielle kandcer) and didnt get squat done to her. look at Joann the lady in optics who brought in cell phones. she got arrested. i dont care what the situation was..cell phones shouldnt be brought in by anyone. skank kandcer should be in just as much trouble as joann.

The Lieutenant that got "fired" was actually off with leave until his appeal was done. He is now a COII at another prison.

she is not married any longer, she was caught screwing around to many times.as far as her being involved with the escape yes she probly was, wouldn't doubt it 1 bit. i have love letters written between skank & inmates, so why not!she is truely the lowest life form there is. would she be involved in such a thing as prison escape, HELL YA!!!with little to no concern for public safety or her 2 childrens well being. this is all from someone who knows the family intimately.

First of all, 4 out of 6 of the officers got unemployment and 3 of those went to school. The Lt. got his job back not as a CO2 but as a SGT at Walker then resigned after point was made. Kandcer did not actually take a phone into the prison, whe just had it in a tower. You don't go inside to get in those and she lost her job because of the cell phone, not the escape. Really know nothing about the personal lives of the people but do know about those things. I also know that at least two of the officers got unemployment based on the fact that GDC had no way of proving and could not say that they did not perform their job.

If an inmate is caught with a cellphone , he gets 5 years added to his sentence and they're always found guilty even when they're innocent!Other inmates make Wrongly convicted inmates hold the phones for them!

All of this could have been prevented if a certain Capt Clark would direct his energy toward his responsibilities of the prison instead of all the subordinate females the Capt is in charge of. Hasn't the past taught you anything or does Atlanta just not care and just let the great General(Capt CLARK) keep abusing his power and running good people off!!

Don't know how I found this page, but it is fucking hilarious. For anyone that's never worked in a prison- inmates have 24 hours a day to try and find a weakness. Sooner or later one will find a way out of any prison this side of the federal ADX or maybe Virginia's Red Onion. Escapes happen, it doesn't mean that staff wasn't doing their job.

I don't know the female that was talked about, but I have to assume most of what is said is true. I've seen woman after woman end up doing stupid things with male inmates. Some were shady people to begin with and others were people you'd never expect to be so stupid. I don't understand what draws women to inmates, but it happens.

As far as the inmate getting killed... how does that indicate that the state shouldn't house medium security prisoners at this facility? Medium security is made up of everything in the prison system from small time thieves to murderers with multiple victims. By definition anybody that doesn't cause trouble while locked up will end up there sooner or later unless it was a very high profile crime. The fact that an offender has 5-10 years clear conduct doesn't make them any less an animal. Beatings, rapes, and killings are going to happen. The staff simply cannot be everywhere at all times. At a medium security facility there were times where 128 inmates had one officer in an interior tower and one officer moving between the two blocs. There's no way an officer can know what is going on inside a cell in a pod that he isn't in. If you don't like the odds, don't become a felon and go to prison.

To the officers and staff at Hays State, keep doing what you're doing. I've caught bits and pieces of the National Geographic show about your facility. From what I can see you all do things right.

at the prison i used to work at..i have seen 400 pound women guards strut around like they were miss georgia after the inmates had them convinced that they were all that..no fat,butt-ugly or women with low self esteem should ever work at a mens prison anywhere..it's a recipe for disaster.
