Is poverty a sign of God's disapproval.

Some say that if you are faithful to God, He will bless you with riches but that poverty is a sign of God's disapproval. What do you think? Interestingly, Jesus, was not a rich man (Luke 9:58) What kind of blessings can servants of God expect?

The 'prosperity gospel' is a hertical doctrine. Jesus said God has chosen the poor to be rich in faith? Why? Because they can't throw money to 'fix'every problem, they have to rely on God for their provision.

The bible says to follow after uncertain riches causes men to follow into many hurtful lusts.

The 'blessings' are to know and serve Jesus Christ, and that's the greatest blessing anyone can have.

Why do men not just seek to know God, and not the blessings he can give them, as if he were some great sugar daddy in the sky. That's not what it's all about.

extreme poverty with lots of hardship and troubles, can be a sign that you do not know God's will for you and thus you are in disobedience. If you were being led by God, is many cases He would show you how to live prosperously and healthy, not necessarily with great deal of money.
but in many cases this is multigenerational, and the ones in the best advantage are the ones who have known and practiced how to be spiritual and obey God truly, for generations and passed this blessing on to their children. Others have to learn it the hard way over time, while they live in difficulties for a while til they have it figured out. Others never learn, and / or they were sent down the wrong road by ignorant and unspiritual unchristian parents. they are at a distinct disadvantage. But spiritual learning through christ , is the first and foremost advantage, that leads to every blessing that we need in life. IF we go there and cooperate with the Holy Spirit. This takes place within each person, it is a personal transformaive and sustaining supernatural relationship that is real , with Christ.This is why he came, to SAVE us from the degradations and degenerations that lead to bodily and soul destruction, and extreme poverty can often be a societal or personal part of that. Yes he wants to save us from the damages of poverty as well as other damage!

i need to add, that the oppression of one part of socity or one person, by another, is also a manifestation of THE OPPRESSOR'S disobedience to God. but since He , Christ, loves us, He does not sit idly by watching. He moves to right the wrongs, and people are supposed to help by cooperating with Him. when no one listens to the spirit of Christ, the people are truly doomed....unless He supernaturally intervenes, which He sometimes or even often, does, for His own. i know this by personal experience, and I have learned how to pray for His interventions. He comes through! He moves people's minds and I swear he makes them do the will of God for His Own, the children of the living God in Christ.

The call went out to all. But only some answered and came to the weddings yet even from there a small number of those were chosen to enter.

It is not enough to answer the call. Nor is it enough to say I believe. You must be like a child and then you must be true to the word, pure as gold.

The purest gold (gold being the purest form of that which was most commonly known as valuable) alone could only be achieved from the greatest and hottest fire of its time. The fire capable of burning away anything and everything but that gold which is at its most achievable purity, and even then gold has been known to have been burnt away.

Poverty is not the worse nor is the punishment of God for we shall always have it. To have you must let go and follow. I have yet to achieve that. But he who seeks to save his life shall lose it. But even if I was saved if you look at me you shall be lost.

Lord I pray only your word comes out of my mouth but if it is not that at least will be pleasing to you. Lord please forgive for I have sinned. Please forgive me because... and... and... but especially for those sins I know not I committed.

I heard this once and it is not written so in the bible but it relates very well to it.

Truth being a sweet and arsenic being a lie the following analogy is offered;

If you took a fair number of children and put them in a room unattended with a very large bowl of arsenic powder at its center, unless anyone is particularly allergic to the arsenic, the worst case scenario is a room full of upset stomachs. Arsenic has bad taste.

If you took the same number of children and put them in the same room unattended with a very large bowl of arsenic lace candies you will have at minimum a full room of dead children. The sweet overpowers the arsenic's bad taste.

One must be careful what one puts out into a room for if Truth is not pure it ceases to be the truth however innocently it is done, we're not only responsible but accountable as well.

Hey if you want to get rich you have to jump up and down in a pool and hold your breath until you pass out IF you wake up thank that imaginary idea in your head you call god that your alive and go get a dawm JOB!!!! no magical fairy's or glowing bushes will help you .I worship me and have everything I have ever wanted.maybe you are reading the wrong book?

Ignorance is no excuse.

The day you speak knowledge you’ll be a person.

The day you speak with experience you’ll be an older person.

The day you speak from your soul you’ll be a spirit with an agenda.

The day you speak logically you will begin in the path of its highest form, wisdom.

The day you give yourself to God it will be God who speaks, not you.

To remain on topic, at a minimum you must be a person willing to share some working knowledge, even if it’s not your own, as ignorance will just not do.

I believe under what appears to be anger there is some knowledge dying to get out. Knowledge we can all share while remaining on topic.

Like NAFTA allowing millions of Mexicans into our country to deflate the economy. My roommate in Del Rio, Texas right on the border of Mexico who was working as a concrete layer for SIX DOLLARS AN HOUR in 2001. Man made poverty.

I did mean no disrespect when I pointed out where some were from above, and I am truly glad to be reading such positivity. Easy to get lost in all the trash here on the internet. Now since I just realized I posted above with complete disregard to the topic, having come from a poor family of farmers (2 generations back), I do think poverty can be inflicted upon some for disobeying god. Actually I believe that the creation template just has some built in mechanisms that promote or dispromote (Sorry if there is no such word, hehe) certain things we do in our lives, and of course that template was made by the creator.
