Rebuttal to wilma:

1. I hate Socal, there are too many bright and sunny days here. How i miss the cold, wet and damp of portland.
2. I hate how we have long stretches of beaches and coastline to goto all the year round.
3. I hate how we have something called diversity and tolerance for all peoples and all languages.
4. I hate how we are seen by the rest of the civilized world and the Entertainment Capital of the world.
5. I hate that the only thing we have is DisneyLand and not tons of waterfalls and hiking trails.
6. I hate how LA roads are always so congested with people going about their daily activities.
7. I hate that we have universally popular movie stars
8. I hate that cops here, understaffed and underpaid still manage to do their jobs and toss (mostly) gang bangers in jail
9. I hate how people here at least pretend to be nice to each other.
10. And finally, I hate how the lakers manage to outshine the portland trailblazers every single time:)

I hate how everyone tries to be nice. Even the rude people try to be nicer than they really are. If I wanted nice I would stay at home with mom and dad. I want real and gritty. I want people flipping me the bird. I want smokestacks and slums.

You can find all that in portland dear. Just open your eyes and look around you without yakking so much

Gee Tim, first time anyone has accused me of being conservative... er thank you?

Any who, I try to like where ever it is I'm living. Even when I was living in SoCal I found many ways to be grateful I lived there. It is only after living in Portland for many years I have come to think, "Why does antone still live in SoCal?"

No one speaks English in L.A. any more.

Traffic is outragous and nothing is within walking distance.

Too many celeberties. I was never cool enough to be admited to the hip night clubs and I was never rich enough to afford the nice places. In Portland I can afford the most expensive meal at the most expensive restaurant and the club at any night club that I want.

I couldn't hardly afford an apartment in SoCal, here I bought a house.

There, it's where do you live, what do you drive and who do you know; here it is what are you reading, who did you vote for and where did you find those '60's bellbottoms. More fun here.

So Cal has Arnold and Paris, here we have the lady from the matress store. I might not be impressed, but I ain't repulsed by snobs here either.

Really it comes down to one thing; Are you happy with yourself? If not, no place will ever be nice; and if you are happy with yourself, any place will seem like home.

Peace out.

portland does suck. oregon is a completely irrelevant state. oregon people defend oregon with their life, its sad. Been to portland twice, and all I can is that Its a rainy dump of a place, with no diversity, a bunch of liberal drug addicts (oregonians call them hipsters, lol), and virtually nothing to do....but smoke meth and go to this AMAZING bookstore,(powls i thinks its called....people from portland think its gods gift to earth...kinda pathetic!!!! lol lol lol
Oregon people suck...thats all im trying to stay. Cali is where its at...Thats why people from all around the world come to Los Angeles, San francisco, and San diego.
Sacramento is better than portland for pete's sake. lol...
Just letting everybody know how lame oregon is.. quacks and beavers, woo hoo!!! LAME!!!!!!!!!!

What I hate about Oregon. Easy for me because Oregon only has but one "shining star" of something that even closely resembles that of a city, Portland. There is something to be said about a larger society's self-empowered feeling that every one outside of their circle is ignorant and wrong. Also yes Portland is becoming like Los Angeles, just count all the mexicans running around not speaking English. We are all soon going to regret our liberal hospitality when these people impose their "better" language upon us. Do you really think it is better for the 85% of Americans that aren't Mexican to have to learn a second language rather than sticking with the original United States template of all immigrants having to learn and speak only English (in public)? My god, Spanish is nothing more than a "Lesser" Latin tongue, while our American English has been THE forefront of innovation and creation of new technology.

Just like my man Ross Perot said, you pass NAFTA and you will hear a giant sucking sound, the sucking of our jobs into Mexico, and the sucking sound of them moving into the United States of America. Tons of Mexicans moving into America whining about having to learn English, telling us learning another language makes us better people, hogwash! As they move north crying 54'40 or fight, we just roll over watching our liberals cheer on this "genuine" diversity. And that's what sucks about Oregon, our shining star's ignorance tied to it's genuine desire to be fair to all people's. The only people we have to be fair to are the ones who participated in this country's greatness. These "new" immigrants spit in the face of our "Americanized" 2nd, 3rd and prior generations of Mexicans who did things the way all of our forefathers did. Learn English and participate in the greatest country the world has ever seen. The most technologically advanced society that mankind has ever made. Not by moving here and sending all the money we made to Europe.(hint, hint, they send a LOT of their money back to Mexico instead of keeping it here in the US).

Oregon! Don't succumb to the disease thats infecting most of America! Stick to our guns and protect what is America. I know it wasn't created by allowing a WHOLE bunch of immigrants to move in at once.

Everything's better in California, I know I know. To all in both states, stop helping to continue this regional infighting on the west coast, it really is harming the future of what we can become out here.

Of course this is an undersireable state to inhabit because the fools who control the laws are liberal mediocratese. But don't fault them. They don't know better. But change is on the way, the greater humans will correct the inadequates. It is happening all over. The intelligent majority are simplifying reality. Hang on all you good people, we will prevail and then the land will be ours! Thank the Lord who created it all. Amen and Amen!

My employer moved me here 2 years ago, I am not use to it and I will not conform. I am sick of people telling me that although it is rainy the summers make it soooo worth it. Fuck You. I think summer for 9 months was worth it. As soon as the housing market turns around and I can recoup my down payment I am getting the hell out of this miserable lousy weather, fake people havin hell hole. You all suck. And I believe the reports that lack of sunlight results in decreased brain activity because I have seen it first hand. You are all a pack of retards. How can the freeway get jambed up with three cars on it? Can you drive more than 45 in the fast lane?( which by the way is not the right lane retard). I wish a tsunami would hit this place, God need to flush this toilet. You pack of liberal mindless fucks.... Die, Die, Die....With all my love Native Californian.

I've lived in a lot of cities, and I have returned to portland after being away for a few years. And i cant stand it. Everyone is so damn PROUD of themselves for living here, it's just too much(like that's an accomplishment) Its really small and it's one large niche. I guess it would be great if you live and die for music, weed, and bikes. which is great when your 20 yrs old, but the city needs to grow up. Whenever everyone is trying to do something "different and creative" everyone ends up looking the same, funny. Living here encourages me to be healthy, stable and career orientated, because everyone around you is just trying to be weirder and weirder. Its a great town if your 20 but everyone has to grow up, if not then stay here, and you'll look like all of the 35 yr. olds who are trying to look and act 20. I wish and look forward to moving, I honestly cant stand the people here, and i'm not even talking about the pushy homeless, which is more of a humanitarian issue. All cities have pro/cons of course, but Portland reminds me of a crying baby that doesn't want to grow up.

Hey Oregon, your state eats it and your entire law enforcement, yes all of them, should be pulled from their homes and into the streets and beaten. I got a speeding ticket somewhere between hickville and tumbleweed valley in baker county in a 65mpg zone. First of all, outside of metropolitan areas, or in baker county's case, farming communities, the speed limit should be lifted, even if only slightly, like in civilized portions of this country. Not only that, my citation was astronomical, the cop was an asshole, and everyone there thinks that's normal. Next time I think about driving through oregon, I'll think again. Enjoy your slice of paradise, redneck idiots.

Let's see if we can understand this; you were speeding, got a ticket, and it's everyone's fault except your own. Like I said to Layla, being from Utah you are probably a criminal and got caught. Shut up, pay the ticket and help keep my taxes low.

Daily Horoscope for December 27

Taurus

Make a big effort to spend time with people you didn't see on Christmas Day, especially if they're older than you or are having a bad time at the moment. You're brimming over with compassion and empathy, which will be really appreciated by anyone who's on the receiving end of them. You're also in the mood to make allowances for people, and that will help enormously.
