There is much more to this story and it would have been good journalism to have included it. In the early 70's, I recall there was a baby doll at the top of the tiers of the 'cake.' Over the years I have heard many details about this story that were not mentioned - some may have been untrue but I know many were factual. Nanci Hutson left more questions unanswered than answered.

I am amazed at how little information is out about Jan Pol . I went to school with his daughter Leona . She was 2 years older than I . I remember the horse whip marks on her legs. Jan was not a nice man please do not lose sight of that. I beleive Leona came from City hamlet in Danbury pryor to the 1955 flood . I am not aware of the arrangements that were made to obtain her but I' m sure that the records are somewhere. No one seems to focus on the young girl who very possibly could have been the victum and Jan pol the predator.
