They followed the path that nanak showed them?

Nanak came in 1469, and died in 1539. Sheikh Farid came in 1173 and died in 1265. There are 134 of Sheikh Farid's hymn incorporated in your granth sahib.

Here is one of his Banis -(n by the way, I'm follow the same Sufi path as Sheikh Farid):

"The day of the bride’s wedding is pre-ordained.
On that day, the Messenger of Death, of whom she had only heard, comes and shows its face.

It breaks the bones of the body and pulls the helpless soul out.

That pre-ordained time of marriage cannot be avoided. Explain this to your soul.

The soul is the bride, and death is the groom. He will marry her and take her away.

After the body sends her away with its own hands, whose neck will it embrace?

The bridge to hell is narrower than a hair; haven’t you heard of it with your ears?

Fareed, the call has come; be careful now - don’t let you be robbed." ((1))

The reference for this is the guru granth sahib - page 1377.

So he obviously came before Nanak - i wonder how nanak showed him a path when he was not even born! If anything, he showed Nanak the path.

If we take the content of this particular poem - we will find a number of exlcusively Islamic concepts.- The first, in relation to the angel of death - Izrael - and how the soul is extracted from the body.
Secondly, with regard the bridge to hell - in a hadith it is experessly mentioned, that it is thinner than a hair and sharper than a sword. Heres a reference for your benefit:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/As-Sir%C4%81t

Now, if Islam, the Qur'an and the hadith are so full of contradictions and the hereafter depicted therein is so 'elusive'- then why do u have these concepts incorporated into your granth sahib? You seriously need to re-evaluate things. Swearing at each other isn't going to change anything. If u are truely living for God, then search for the truth, don't deny it! Guru Nanak learnt from these men, fact!

Guru Nanak visited Sheikh Ibrahim, the Muslim successor of Baba Farid, the great Sufi dervish of the twelfth century at Ajodhan. When asked by Ibrahim which of the two religions was the true way to attain God, Guru Nanak replied, "If there is one God, then there is only His way to attain Him, not another. One must follow that way and reject the other. Worship not him who is born only to die, but Him Who is eternal and is contained in the whole universe."

After Guru Nanak’s death in September 1539, his Hindu followers thought him to be a Hindu and his Muslim followers thought him to be a Muslim. That is to say, both Muslims and Hindus viewed him from the perspective of their respective faiths.

It was the later disciples of Nanak who gave shape to a new religion, of which Nanak is considered the first Guru. In 1604, Arjan Dev (one of the ten Gurus) compiled the hymns of Guru Nanak along with the compositions of both Hindu and Muslim holy men, like Jaidev, Surdas, Sheikh Farid, and Kabir. The compiled book was enshrined by Arjan.

The granth sahib is considered the supreme spiritual authority and Head of the Sikh religion, rather than any living person. It contains the works of not only the ten Gurus but also the hymns by sufis like Sheikh Farid (1175 - 1265) and Sheikh Bhikan.

so fuck my religion? wat of those verses in ur book, they are directly attributed 2 my religion mate.

Baba Sheikh Farid ji descended from Farrukh Shah, who was king of Kabul and kings of Ghazni and other states were subject to him. Baba Farid ji's Great Grandfather was son of Farrukh Shah, the emperor of Kabul. During that time, Baba Farid’s Great Grandfather was killed when Halaku, the grandson of Chengez Khan

Thanks brather!

1 Tall Fair Pokistan == 10 Short Dark Rice Eating.

---

History Lesson for my dear Yindoo Brathers.

1 Paki = 10 Hindus

This phrase was actually used by General Yahya Khan of Pakistan in a speech to his troops, when he was trying to convince them that they could easily beat the Indians in 1971. Unfortunately for him, the war went rather badly for him, Pakistan ended up losing half its country with the largest surrender of POWs since WW-II and the world was presented the new nation of Bangladesh. Sometimes the phrase is quoted as "One Pakistani is equal to Ten Indians".

The origin of this term has to do with the Prophet Mohammed telling his troops before the Battle of Badr, that one muslim is equal to ten kafirs (infidels or unbelievers). General Yahya Khan merely transposed Kafirs with Hindus or Indians.

I never said he was a Sikh. No one claims Baba Farid was a Sikh and as for a religion in decline I think that is a joke coming from the"religion" full of terrorists. Check out the news in Pakistan, blowing each other up now. Maybe it is Islamic population control. Allah's will according to your brother Asif Khan

Daily Horoscope for January 2

Do not overspend on redecorating. Say as little as possible and concentrate on matters in hand. Someone you care about will be erratic and eager to pick a fight. To move that great idea, you need to talk to the big spenders. Run the idea by them and see if you cannot get a backer and a partner for your concept.
