Q-7 What about Accommodation?
Ans:
1. Students are usually accommodated in a flat with a private room and a kitchen and toilet facilities shared with 2 to 3 other students.
2. The rent per month ranges from $110 to $200 for a room in a shared flat. Detailed Information is below:-
Most of this detailed information is written in context to Turku(city of finland) but it can be valid for other cities of finland as well.
It is a long mail..
but m damn sure k it will be v v v fruitful for u ppl.Plz Do Readt It-
first of all let me tell u about student accommodation system in finland.
There is always a "student village" in every city.
There are various types of apartment in student village.
You can apply into the student village for an apartment via an e-application.
u can fill it online, choose ur apartment type(according to space or rent)..
submit the application online...and u will get student village authorities response after 1 n a half month....(websites for applying to the student village are mentioned in the end of mail)-
do not worry about that whether u wud get an apartment or not...
they have a huge student village with few students...so there are always so many rooms available.
After u get response from student village that they have given u a apartment.you can pay deposit and rent of first month(deposit usually 250 euro and rent is around 200 euro).
u may pay this amount before coming to finland,i mean from pakistan u can transfer this money into student village account...OR u can simply arrive in finland..and pay it afterwards...
Now...question is wat sort of apartments are available n with wat facilities...?
There are usually 4 types of apartment.
1-single room (small)
2-single room (Large)
3-Shared apartment
4-Studio type apartment..
now let me explain them one by one:-
1-Single room (small)
Area=15 Sq. Meter (haqeqat me chota kamra)
isme apka bed, fridge, table, chair aram se aa sakti hei...lekin is se ziada kuch nai
Rent=from 160 to 200 euro
Attached washrum.
But kitchen is shared among 10 students may be..like there are 10 rooms in a corridor and one kitchen in the end for all students on that corridor..

2-Single room (Large)

Area=22 Sq. Meter (kafi bara kamra)
isme 2 students bht asani se reh sakte hein..
mera room itna hi hei...
aur isme 2 beds, fridge,TV,microwave ,two tables,Chair sb para hoa hei aur iske bad bhi darmian mein kafi jaga hei..so its a v nice choice for those students who want to live with a room-mate.
But keep one thing in ur mind...dats v important..
A single room is always given to ONE student...but it is u who share it with ur friend .
like again my example,
yei room mere dost mehmood k naam pe hei...
usne iska deposit jama kiya tha..
but when i arrive.we start sharing its rent..
now i pay 110 euro and mehmood pay 110 (220 total rent).
Attached Washrum.
But again kitchen is shared with 10 or 15 ppl.(dun worry finnish do not use kitchen...usually u will find only DESI inside it making something spicy n hot).

3-Shared Apartment.

Its a kind of flat with 3 rooms, a kitchen and a washrum with a small area for dining.
me is qism k flat mein rehta tha when i arrived in finland.(u can see its pic in our photo section)..
A shared apartment can accommodate 3 students..1 per room.
Area of each room is usually 18 Sq. Meters.
Rent is around 160 to 180 euros.
but problem is this ...u CANNOT choose ur flat mates....
i was living with two finnish guyz ......
When u apply for a shared apartment..u never know who is going to be ur flat mate.....can be swedish, finnish, russian, estoni an koi bhi.
Han gender specific hote hein.
so kisi ko khush hone ki zaroorat nai hei..
aas pas larke hi hunge...
Khtra aapko hi hoga kisi aur ko nai ...

4-Studio :-

Each studio has one big room with a small kitchenette and bathroom (=shower+toilet). The size of the studios is 32,5 square meters.
2 ppl can v easily survive in it...but again it will be given to one student...
Rent is around 300 euro...

Now Facilities:-

1-Internet connection in every apartment..
Just pay yearly fees around 70 euro and access 2 MB CIR link(not from multinet ).....

2-Laundry machines is available in every building .It is a shared system.Pay 1.5 euro for one time washing,drying.....

3-Sauna...(yei aa k hi samjh mein aayega k kia hota hei....tum logo ko abhi yaqeen hi nai ayega...American Pie Naked Mile dekhi hei kisi ne ..samjh jao aage...)..

4-Sports area.

5-Allergy-causings pets, such as cats and dogs are not allowed in the apartments, neither smoking inside the buildings. So smoking not allowed inside rooms.

6-Rooms are excellent..(u wud not feel any garmi sardi inside it....bahr -25 hota tha aur room k andar mein aik pajame mein ghoom raha hota tha wo bhi without shirt....)room tempreture is always maintained to 25C.....

7-One more thing..rooms can be furnished and non furnished..

Furnished:-

furnished means u will get a bed without mattress, table chair, cupboard, fridge.but u will pay 5 euro each month for this facility..

Non-Furnished:-

Non furnished means No such thing...u wud have an empty room...with ofcourse no extra money.

Now apply as soon as possible kunke ache flats ya rooms shru mein hi nikal jate hein...
to aap sb apply ker do...apply kerne k koi paise nai hein..bad me beshuk 1 room ko 2 bnde share ker lena ya jo behter samjho...

ziada tar information Turku ki hei...but helsinki aur dosre shehro me bhi taqreeban yehi scene hei....

Q-15 How can i apply into Polytechnics or in Bachelors?

Ans:

For Polytechnic or Bachelors, you will need atleast 12 years of educationMostly IELTS is not compulsory in getting admission in Bachelors but its good to have this certificate of IELTS.Normally there is always an admission test conducted by polytechnic before any admission. In pakistan Finnish embassy in islamabad conduct this entry test on behalf of institute OR university can also directly send u test and ask to solve it & resend it to university. Most of the programs at bachelors level are in finnish language but there are also some in English. Now u just need to know the websites of polytechnics...you may visit http://finland.cimo.fi or finnish education ministry website http://www.minedu.fi/OPM/Koulutus/ammattikork...
