Turco-Pakistan Treaty of 1954

which reads that two countries would exchange information on technical experience and progress, production of arms and ammunition and co-operation.

There is a dire need to further explore the vistas for co-production between two countries, as Pakistan ordinance production facilities have won contracts from the Turkish Armed Forces and HLMDG can play an effective role in improving bilateral defence ties. There is a need to highlight the areas for future defence co-operation.

It is pertinent to note that the Turkish delegation, during its stay in Pakistan, will also call on Minister for Defence Chaudhry Ahmad Mukhtar, Secretary Defence Lieutenant General Athar Ali Syed (Retd), and Secretary Defence Production Lieutenant General Shahid Siddiq Tirmizey (Retd) besides holding meeting with the military leadership of Pakistan.

Before you go breaking your ribs beating your chest, there are certain things you need to know about the JF-17 project:

The jet has minimal use of composite materials creating a very large radar signature

It uses the RD-93 engine, a Russian Turbofan that China re-exports to Pakistan. No transfer of technology.

Available radars for the jet are limited to 3-4 European and 1 Chinese version that are old, not newer AESA versions.

There aren't any customers for this jet. Zimbabwe and Azerbaijan have made inquiries, not orders. Saudi Arabia, UAE and Iran haven't asked about the JF-17 program at all.

Finally, production capacity was supposed to be 12-15 jets per year. With the current economic crisis, I would be surprised if Kamara was able to produce 3 jets in 2009.

Let's get our stories straight before bullshitting.

So let me get this straight:

When the Americans supply you with F-16s and Stinger missiles, the message is America-Pakistan Zindabad!

When the Chinese supply you with JF-17s and nuclear weapon designs, the message is Pakistan-China Zindabad!

Do you know the meaning of the word 'Zindabad'? It means 'Long Live'. None of your relationships are long lived. Remember the Taliban, remember East Pakistan, nothing that is associated with Pakistan is long lived, not your leaders, not the Sri Lankan criket team, nothing!

Not at all Mr. Moiz. I think the decision makers in the PAF knew what they were capable of... and what they weren't!
The JF17 was a cheaper project than starting from scratch, and there were no other projects available to Pakistan (Eurofighter-NO, F-22 - NO, Sukhoi Su-30 - NO). China was willing to transfer a lot of tech to Pakistan for little investment, about ~$250mil. Pak would get a frontline fighter with older tech and no questions about what it planned to do. All F-16s are grounded, the Mirages and F-7s are all that's left. And they do not have BVR (Beyond Visual Range) capability. Even the JF-17 has limited BVR capability, but modern airplanes need this to prevent having to dogfight.
I hope you have checked on the question of tech transfer on the engine, please do....
Same with the radar. Chinese radars are a very old version of a Russian Phazotron.
Also look up orders for the JF-17, and you will find only 2 countries inquired, Azerbaijan and Zimbabwe. Neither have any hard currency to pay for the jets, so it is most likely that the sales are off.
Pakistan needs to train its soldiers in guerilla warfare rather than buy new jets, to defeat its real enemy. the Taliban.

I really hate to argue with you, but the LCA has had more production (7-8 in India) so far as compared to the JF-17 (2-3 in Pakistan, but more have been produced by China).
Also the LCA has reached a higher speeds in testing, but to be fair the JF-17 has not undergone its high speed testing yet.
The LCA has undergone live missile fire (Vympel R-73), but no missile fires for the JF-17 yet.

Also, check info sources for materials used by both planes and radars used.

If JF 17 is not fully tested why are they producing the aircraft in Kamra?! People keep on saying the same things without educating themselves. The JF 17 is flying it has BVR weapons and precision strike capability. I think the haters like to compare JF 17 with latest US weapons then conclude it is crap. It is meant to be a low cost replacement. The rest of PAF is gonna be made up of J 10s and F 16blk 52.
