Arizona Civil Rights Amendment, Proposition 107

The proposed amendment would ban affirmative action programs in the state that are administered by statewide or local units of government, including state agencies, cities, counties and school districts.

A "YES" vote shall have the effect of prohibiting the State from giving preferential treatment to or discriminating against any person or group on the basis of race, sex, color, ethnicity or national origin. The prohibition applies to preferences or discrimination in public employment, education or contracting. It exempts reasonably necessary qualifications based on sex, existing court orders and actions that would result in the loss of federal funds. The State includes state government, local governments, public colleges and universities, community colleges and school districts.

A "NO" vote shall have the effect of retaining the current law regarding preferential treatment to or discrimination against any person or group on the basis of race, sex, color, ethnicity or national origin in public employment, education or contracting.

Vote YES on 107, thereby eliminating AFFIRMATIVE ACTION... and therefore all ethnic groups shall truly be equal!

Vote NO on 107. How long does it take for a race to recover from slavery? As long as they need. The African American unemployment rate is still much higher than the rate for white Americans.

Sorry... slavery ended in the 1860's... civil rights for all in the 1960's... and effective 2008 - an "African American" president...

Affirmative Action is DEAD. Certain ethnic groups don't get to officially and indefinitely be VICTIMS forever. Everyone is now officially EQUAL!

Who was it that said "how can you justify murdering a murderer with a law". So how can one justify reverse discrimination? because at one time there was a serious problem with discrimination! that makes about as much sense as the woman who sued Mcdonalds because she spilled hot coffee on herself. Jobs should be for the person with the most experience and schooling, not because of their race or gender, most of the people that want to take advantage of this are the lazy people and the ones that don't have the drive to get the schooling.

All ignorant people should be allowed to be boss on a rotational schedule. Every problem can be blamed on the boss who has just served. And the mess-ups
can be left for the new boss who just can't wait to take over. Affirmative Action keeps the foul-ups

A huge land mass in Arizona already discriminates against non-Native populations. This law is needed to balance the playing field.
