Dumb b*tch f*cked up, let her pay for it.

I thought the housemates would have fed him.
Well, that would have made sense. But they weren't there very often and they didn't even know Travis was dead upstairs for almost a week! I'm sure they would have fed the dog if they had known it wasn't eating, but it was Travis' dog and they probably thought it had been taken care of. I'm just quoting what was said by the ex-gf.

I agree with LA Guy. This is a crime of passion and though Travis was a great guy in the eyes of most because of his accomplishments, he was not a SAINT and he really was using this woman. He used her, had sex with her, showed her off and then, she is not good enough for him and not marriage material. She SNAPPED and there is NO EXCUSE for what she did. He deserved something for his treatment of her but it was not to be killed. She is obvioiusly not right in the head. As fas as premeditation, I don't think so. This was too sloppy. This was a crime of passion by a woman who snapped. Elise is also right, she should have "learned and moved on" after letting herself be used by Travis, BUT, that is what a STABLE person could do and she was obviously not stable in her mind.

I agree with you, however I feel as though it was premeditated. You said it was too sloppy, but if it was her first time killing someone it would be sloppy. My guess is that her adrenaline was so high she got so into it that she forgot about the mess she was creating. She may have clued in to how messy it was, which may lead to why there was water all over the bedroom/bathroom. She probably got scared and tried to cover it up threw water all over the place but got panicky and felt as though she needed to leave quickly before his roommate arrived home.
He deserved something for his treatment of her but it was not to be killed? WTF is wrong with you two....seriously???? So, just what do you think he did deserve then? You sound like a couple of scorned people yourselves. Do you have bitter feelings towards lovers who done you wrong and now you want revenge? It must suck being the person on the bottom in a relationship but if you don't like it, get on top! He was allowed to treat her any way he wanted. It was her choice to stay with him so he didn't "deserve" anything! I also have no pity....yes i said NO pity for women who really are abused (dont believe Jodi really was though). LA Guy, you know we differ on our opinion of that :) I mentioned earlier that I do a lot of charity work and donate money. But, I hate it when I get asked to donate money to abused women. Sick children, abused animals, victims of natural disasters...absolutely! But I'm not giving my money to some dumb chick with low self esteem because she CHOOSES to stay with a guy who abuses her because she just cant leave him, or worse....she loves him! If you think someone is an asshole and you stay with them, then that pretty much makes you the asshole! He treated her like the pathetic cling-on that she was and she LET him! Let's see, she worked as a waitress across the street from me and was horrible at that job! What other jobs did she have besides trying to sell PPL which usually sweet talks the weak into working for them anyway. Her personality repelled people and she was a HS dropout. When you're over 30 and have nothing going for you but a cute body and the ability to give a good blow job and let guys put it in the back (3 hole wonder) you better get used to guys treating you just like what you are! And it's not their fault, it's yours!

Please take note, gruesome overkill is not uncommon when battered women kill their male lover. Does not prove premeditation at all. Civilians just cannot accept this fact of human nature, but our laws recognize it. This is precisely why most jurisdictions would have charged her with Manslaughter. Not the case in Mesa, Arizona, due to the religous/socio economic makeup. If a similar homicide had occured in the Barrio of Phoenix, among the deprived underclass, another scenario would be playing out.

Not uncommon for a battered women who kills, to try to cover it up.
The run and deny phenomena is not an anomaly. Other posters have mentioned this.

Just caught Nancy Grace live. Nancy hates Jody and is doing everything in her power to demonize and degrade her. Nancy did mention though, that she was in court today and found Jody to be "absolutely gorgeous"

What is all this irrelevant crap about Travis being a Virgin and if he ever got it on with his other GF .. his former GF, testifying that she noticed he had an erecion when they were making out, but nothing happen and she scolded him..what a fkn circus

Nancy Grace and Dr Drew defining themselves as charltans...btw, heard that Nancy Grace never really prosecuted a murder case, alhough she alludes to it...more like assisted, on the perihery, some gopher work. Dr Drew keeps trotting out some relationship expert, some narcissistic babe from a reality show, who keeps aping for the camera. Nancy and Drew also show- casing "postue experts", LOL, divining on who Jody really is.

Goodmorning Elise

Enjoy your wit and sense of humor, particular as to Jody's attributes. So Jody's ex longterm BF from PD took the stand. Huff Post reports he is twenty years her senior and they had owned a home together. Did you see his face, what is your take on him? Jody dated some dumpy guys.

Out of the cast of characters, the only goodlooking guy with a modicum of main stream personality and social skills was Travis. This pre paid legal crowd are strange in appearance and demeanor.

Martinez was way out of line with her PD BF, asking him if he engaged in anal with her. Also the surprise flashing of the gruesome autopsy pic during cross examination was disgusting and caused pain to Travis' relatives. This Martinez is a strange duck, as is much of this Arizona crowd.

No, and they really haven't released much info about them either. I do worry because if you listen to the media, the jury seems to be looking at a lot of what I feel are irrelevant details with a critical eye, yet they are ignoring the elephant sized evidence in front of them!

That bf not only seemed dumpy but his personality was as interesting as cardboard. I zoned out listening to him speak due to his monotone nature of speech. She must have had other motives for being with him imo. Haha, the prepaid legal crowd IS strange. Their "headquarters" are here in the PD area and they live and breath PPL. Any time you meet a member, you immediately know because that's all they talk about. And they all think they are about to strike it rich. They are mostly very nice people though. Maybe just a little misguided and overly eager to find their lucky break!

Actually, her motives for being with the much older bf seem pretty obvious. Again, she had nothing of her own. He bought a house with her in PD and supported her. I'm sure she lived very comfortably during that time which is why she stayed for 4 years. He was divorced, in his 50s, and had a young pretty gf. He probably felt like a winner even if she didn't have much on the inside.

Yea, I don't understand. They asked Travis' ex some pretty good questions yesterday tho.

How is it obvious? She was not living of off him. They had a stable relationship until Jodi got involved with Pre-Paid Legal Services (now Legal Shield), and met Travis. Jodi was working while her and Daryl Brewer were living together, she was paying half the mortgage and other bills, after she got involved with Travis, and the PPL crowd, everything went downhill.

BTW, Martinez made a good point for the defense during his cross examination of Gus Searcy, he wanted to destroy Searcy's credibility by making him look like "a snake oil salesman", by attacking Legal Shield, by calling it a pyramid scam, by implying that he was making money from everyone, including the people at the bottom of the pyramid. It didn't reflect well on Travis, he worked for the same company and did exactly what Searcy does, he was also a top executive.

What was the reason Martinez talked about his job? I love him, but he was being rude. Why is his job relevant?

By calling the company he works for a scam, Martinez was trying to discredit him in front of the jury. It goes to credibility.

Just catching a few minutes In Live court session, 10Am PST..Martinez has Travis ex gf (lame blonde) on cross. He is leading the witness and giving testimony himnself LOL..convoluted statements in gthe guise of questioins...what is with all of his hand gestures and moving around like a kid needing his ritalin dose..this guy has to be alienating the jury..now, he is asking her if she feels that it was appropriate for Jody to have slashed his throat..LOL, what does he expect her to say..now asking her if Travis had discussed his Virginity with her...this Judge, is not controlling her courtroom

The best girl Travis had was Jody, of course all in context to this tragedy never occuring. I could have been his mentor in the real LA world...LOL

Now Jody's attorney has her on cross redirect...although she is a much better Atty than Martinez, she is also getting real lame with her line of questions...all that is needed is a few concise to the point questions...both attorneys must be boring the hell out of this jury..juries are going to ask quetions again, wtf is this circus

OK, off to my office.

How did the prosecutor know her ex gave her the gas cans? I assume he told them, but then, he finally had to drag it out of him.

Catching up on testimony from yesterday and today...all I can say is that I couldn't get enough of them panning the camera back and forth across the front row showing Jodi's whole family who apparently has now come out to support her! What a full cast circus freak show!!

Ok, this stupid ridiculous girl the defense has called, who keeps talking about this "shocking, over the top" comment Travis made to Jodi yet she can't quite remember just what that comment was......Oh, but it was shocking!!!
