Sheriff Joe Arpaio announced on the J.D. Hayworth show that he is accepting donations to help fund his crackdown on illegal immigration.

You are going to pay for it one way or another so would you rather see your tax dollars going to support Illegal aliens or would you rather donate to Joe and see your tax dollars being used for Americans?

You don't know what you're talking about! The sheriff was using federal money that was specifically 'earmarked' for illegal immigration enforcement.

The state of AZ is now in danger of receiving NO future funds for 'illegal immigration enforcement'. We already pay taxes locally for law enforcement, and if it isn't sufficient--we should be looking into local funding.

The city of Phoenix voters just passed a bill that increases sales tax in order to hire 500 additional police officers. So we (Phoenicians)are aware of the deficit in felony roundups and have acted accordingly.

Granted I'm not a resident of Maricopa County, but I look to be in a few years but only if the county and state take illegal immigration down to a minimum. In regards to Sheriff Joe's use of funds for law suits. Does anyone know how many Sheriff Joe and counsel have won vs how many that have been lost?

If I recall correctly, he has gone to court on seven cases and won all of them. For the rest, the County Supervisors pay a settlement rather than allow the case to go to trial. They are paying out money that could be saved if the Sheriff could win those cases.
