Ebay Blocks 15,000 Sellers From Listing

In ebay's latest "purge" earlier this week, some 15,000 (mostly small) sellers were targeted. The publicity nightmare this opens up for ebay can only be "guesstimated" as each of these axed sellers (many of whom WERE also ebay buyers) tell their family, friends and neighbors of the bad treatment they received from ebay.

They were likely white trash deadbeats who never paid their bills.

This purge only furthers the climate of fear and distrust at ebay.

The bad press fallout from this must be enormous.

Jim Cramer must have known something when he gave the SELL ebay stock advice on Thursday 8/22/13.

High volume and big box retailers- along with Chinese sellers- have taken over ebay and the "little guy" is being systematically eliminated.

That's the reason I quit buying off of eBay.

There is growing public sentiment for an investigative journalist like John Stossel or Morgan Spurlock to take a good hard look into ebay.

I am John Q Public average buyer, let's say. Why on earth would i come to ebay to buy cheap junk from the Chinese? Why on earth would I buy stuff from Toys R Us off ebay when i can buy direct from Toys R Us at one of their local stores or directly from them online? Why would I but DVDs, CDs, or books when i can find them faster, easier and as cheap and as fast on the River? If as a buyer I wanted to buy from WallyWorld, I'd go to WallyWorld or their website, not ebay. I think it is the ultimate delusion to believe that ebay could ever become a primary retail DESTINATION site. Especially with the tide of public opinion regarding ebay more and more as a joke or an evil corporation. Ebay has lost touch with the primary reason people came there as buyers to begin with: to find rare or unusual items. not run of the mill dollar store stuff you can buy anywhere.

Reliable estimates of the ongoing PURGES at ebay now place the number of suspended sellers at 50,000. Here's an interesting article: http://onlinephilosophyclub.com/forums/viewto...
