North Korea's launch last week of an intercontinental ballistic missile cleverly disguised as a weather satellite vehicle seems to have started an Asian space race.

If North Korea can do it, why not the Philippines? The government have to support the Space Agency being put up in order to succeed otherwise it will go down the drain just like before. There are lots of talented Filipino scientists scattered all over the world who could contribute their expertise to build rockets, and eventually send a Filipino astronaut to space.

I should say, I have a dream? that someday a Filipino made rocket will be made in the Philippines.

You can't maintain a single airplane of the 4 you have in your military without crashing them.

If the nuclear power plant was too dangerous
to ever start up with all it's defects I can't wait to see what damage they could do with a rocket.

During the Marcos Era and Vietnam Era, that Philippines had an advanced rocket technology and the rocket missiles could even reach mainland Asia and many neighboring countries even had doubts why Marcos was building a Nuclear Power Plant in Bataan which the by product of Nuclear Reactors Plutonium count be used as nuclear warheads in the missiles.

When the Vietnam War finally ended Marcos decided to scrap the project.

Yes there are many brains in the Philippines the problem is the funding just goes to the pockets of the corrupt politicians. The Nuclear Physics in the University of the Philippines which also has a small Nuclear Reactor the Philippines Nuclear Research Institute, the graduates just go abroad which is sad because the goeverment do not support them.

Exactly what?? At least the Philippines economy is progressing, no talks of fiscal cliff or debts of 16 trillion.

You have to talk also the positive side, not focusing only on the negative side.

That's your big challenge Don American, to weigh it both sides.

Progressing??? Where. Ask anyone if they see a difference in their lives nutcase. From a person that thinks Filipino's come out of the typhoon losing everything including families just smiling with happiness.

Take the side of Filipino's lol because your certainly not an American or even sane. Space Agency??? Your people can't even make a lighter that works right.

When your Government decides to get a military instead of begging off Americans we will see how your economy does.

People who looks down at poor people, are mostly disdain and fear. They're dangerous and different. Sometimes there's a suspicion that their condition is their own fault, that they're simply lazy or inferior. But there are more people who are kind-hearted.

God loves the poor and will show them the way.

Don't talk about your "self indulgence" of too much "negativity" against the Philippnes. Accept the truth that we Americans we Americans are facing the fiscal cliff...and we
'might' all will jump into it.

positive side is that we'll get to launch a satellite into space

negative side is we don't know when, could be a year from now or decades

when talking about progress, there is progress BUT what constitutes as progress in philippines is not the economic growth, no, it is the corruption rate, the crooks and the rate of 'brain drain' aka people fleeing abroad. if the corruption rate doesn't improve and the economic growth continues, then you can guess who gets most of the money. progress to the rich yes, progress to the people of philippines? no

but im not going to single out philippines in my post. US is just as worse. they dont tax the super rich as much as the lower classes. its a known fact and until now they let the 1% fooling around in Wall sreet as we speak

I see your watching FOX News again. Didn't you learn your lesson during the election their a bunch of corporate propagandist? LOLOL!!!! You follow FOX right over the cliff.

60% of the super rich now want to pay higher taxes because the economic uncertainty of deficits makes Wall Street too chaotic. By paying more taxes they know a more stable economy means better business.

So ask yourself why the Republicans are so set on protecting the super rich when they don't even want protection but want to pay more.

Ill give you the answer why. Republicans want all the power and the White House and they will lie and bring this country down to just for that power. Even now their last backers the super rich are turning against them.

The problem here Omar is they can't maintain a military even with money they have because the Generals rip off the supply system so much they can't maintain tanks, aircraft, ships. The ships the U.S. gave them the Philippines still has not installed radar.

I posted what was in your Air Force. A few 1960 era OV-10 propeller aircraft. No jet fighters at all, none. I then compared to Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, India, Malaysia. All have sophisticated jet fighters, ships and radar protection for the country.

Did you know the Philippines has no radar at all? They wouldn't know if enemy aircraft missiles and ships were coming until they were within sight. Totally defenseless but Filipino's bad mouth the U.S. until something bad happens like China. It's always scrap the VFA talk until something happens.

All China has to do is walk right in here.

OMG!!!!! Your totally unable to even think of the poor as human beings with normal human emotions. Your referring to them as "smiling" and "happy" after that typhoon when they lost everything is delusional. Man you need help, but their is no help for a person that needs a shot of humanity.

Here others read your post and we watch the news of the suffering in Mindanao. The crying and screaming of loss. Then there is you and we wonder what kind of monster you are because your kind is everywhere here among the elite. Cold blooded heartless assholes that feel superior by portraying the poor as dumb children that are incapable of feeling, just little coconut hugging islanders happy as long as they have a bamboo shack and a cup of rice.

I know your incapable of feeling shame and I fear for my country with you walking around in it.
