The typhoon Frank caused flooding in all parts of kalibo, from Andagao, Capitol, main town, almost in all places.

The flood which was really muddy was almost 5 ft deep and to date has slowly receded, although leaving knee high mud or almost five inches.

Prices of goods and food products rose. A kilo of rice is almost 120/kilo. Still no electricity and water in the area. Rationing of products being done in some areas. Mercury drug/other stores are closed, hence people have no access to medicines, food and basic necessities.

Others were able to charge their phones from the smart tower in Buswang.

Aklan should be included as recipient of the calamity fund and people selling at exhorbitant prices must be put in jail and checked.

Please pray for those in Aklan and other places affected by the typhoon.

Thank you.

Just got an sms from my dad that there are no more bottled water available in the market.

Me and friends here in Manila are all going home in the next couple of days to bring in supplies for our families.

Kalibo is currently in dire need of supplies. People who are overpricing will get theirs once everything has settled down, Kalibo is a "small" town and almost everybody knows everybody.

Hi, I`m in Germany and have many friends in Kalibo and Boracay. The last text I received from Kalibo, was also about no drinking water,no food, no power for up to 1 month?
What is your national Red Cross doing with the Donations?
Over here we only heard briefly about the ship wreck, about Iloilo,Capiz, nothing about Kalibo or Boracay. All phone lines are dead, cell or landline.
I´M WORRIED: CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME A PLACE IN KALIBO; IS THERE AN INTERNET PLACE THAT WORKS; WITH GENERATOR?
When will the phones and power work again?
Ingat, God bless and protect all of you, my prayers are with you!

P.S: Does anyone know the email of Mayor Rebaldo?
My cellphone is 09293838333, 1 Peso for you through int. roaming, 20 Pesos for me, so better email reply.

don't worry about kalibo, the fatalities were only in places near the Bridge going to Kalibo (from Caticlan). No foods and electricty for only couple of weeks not a month.

I'm trying to call my relatives in Malinao and kalibo for days without avail and I'm also worried.
How high is the flood?I remember way back middle 90's in Oyo Torong it's about neck deep...
You guys are right Kalibo's problem is flooding I hope the municipal and provincial government can start dredging, widening the Aklan river and put a stop to illegal logging in Libacao,Malinao and Madalag.

thank you so much for your info, especially about the Smart Tower-charge of phones, and the working internet in Sampaguita gardens!
I finally was able to talk to a friend in Boracay, because Smart is working again, little damage there only, landlines are working there again in most areas.
Friends in Iloilo told me they are ok.
My Friends in Kalibo doubt that anyone overcharging will go to jail: The crooks have all kinds of excuses for their horrible prices, like the rice got wet and they had extra work drying it, ect. I hope the water bottles for 100P are really safe water?
Also they told me, not only the Pharmacies are closed, but also the food chains and banks?--
-There are also people who try to survive honestly and by working hard: If you need your motorbike repaired, txt 09294811771, the guy is certified mechanic, the main breadwinner of his family, if you don´t have money for the repair or paint, he is willing to accept instead something he can feed his family with, like live manok or patos or rice, dried fish or beans, or Nipa for their destroyed house!-
Me, I´m up since yesterday and all last night, writing articles to News Agencies, because it seems noone has heard that Kalibo needs help?
Pls. consider that here it´s 7 hours earlier, much better you email me the latest about Kalibo, so I can forward it to the Media. Maybe with fotos?
Ingat and God bless and protect all of you. See you when I´m back around November2, and I´m joinig Atiatihan groups every year.
Greetings,

to Ingo from Germany and all of you:
What other forums are there, especially with fotos, about the Kalibo Tragedy? I need fotos as proof for the newspapers and organizations who could help!
Does anyone know if Ibajay was affected?
Your Kalibo.gov .ph homepage hasn´t been updated since 2007!
I wish I could contact the Mayor about what´s happening to help the people, does anyone know the phone numbers or email of Mayor Rebaldo and Gov. Marquez? I need to give that information also to the media Im contacting for help.
Very long lines in front of Smart tower for charging cell phones. Is there another place? Also a functioning internet inside of town? And what´s the latest situation there, when is water and electricity coming back, when will pharmacies, foodstores and banks open again? If I send a package to my friends now, will it arrive, is the post office open and delivering? How about Western Union or LBC? Thanks, it´s 1.37 am here now, I´m going to sleep now. Ingat!
