Dona t get a snake; frozen mice can give you salmonella
Most parents can give their kids several thousand logical explanations why they can't have a snake for a pet, including "yuck," "eew" and "over my dead body." But, for those who need one more excuse, here it is: Frozen mice can give you salmonella.

Don't you know handling raw meat (chicken, pork, eggs) can also give someone salmonella? This is why there is antibacterial soap. Also all those signs and commercials put on by the health department and such about how to wash your hands (lather for minimal of 20 seconds, rinse thouroughly with warm/hot water, then dry hands thouroughly) and how often (before and after eating/preparing food, handling money, food, or animals, and after "going potty"). If someone in a home is terrified of a creature, then that person should just say so. The others in the home should be considerate of that fact. Many parents know that eventually the responsibility of any pet falls upon them whenever the kid loses interest or neglects to care for the critter that "they just had to have."
